Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is reshaping our world at an unprecedented pace, becoming an integral part of how we live, work, and interact. It is therefore critical for current and future business leaders to comprehend the potential of this evolving technology and to grasp its far-reaching implications. In order to prepare and help guide these leaders, HBS faculty and their research must be at the forefront of the GenAI transformation, providing insights on its impact on business and society, and exploring ways to leverage GenAI tools to enhance teaching and learning. Gifts to the HBS Fund are instrumental in enabling this important work, supporting the School’s commitment to shaping the future of business—and business education—in a digital world.

Keeping Informed About AI

When Baker Library staff members determined the need for a biweekly newsletter about GenAI to help keep the HBS community informed, it employed an assistant—a chatbot—to help sift through the more than 100 articles on the subject published daily online by leading newspapers as well as Bloomberg, Wired, The Verge, The Information, and other technology sites. “We do the initial curation, drawing on trusted resources, and use GenAI tools to see if there are any recent articles that we’ve missed and find out what else they recommend,” says Kathryn Fitzgerald, manager of Strategic Research Services at the library—the human in charge of the project that launched last November. Those who are interested in subscribing to it or accessing other AI-related resources available to members of the HBS community can do so by visiting alumni.hbs.edu/GenAI-Resources.
