Re: Barbara Franklin (MBA 1964); Jane Lack (MBA 1964); Joan Griewank Colligan (MBA 1964)
Topics: Education-LearningCareer/Life ExperienceDemographics-Women
In 1959, HBS began allowing women who had graduated from the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration (HRPBA) to apply for admission to the second year of the MBA program. Women were first permitted to enroll in the two-year MBA program in 1963, where they attended alongside their HRPBA graduate peers.
Sixty years later, three of those 1963 HRPBA and 1964 MBA alumnae—Joan Colligan (MBA 1964), Barbara Franklin (MBA 1964), and Janey Lack (MBA 1964)—talk about what brought them to HBS, detail the challenges they faced, and reflect on how the experience shaped their lives and careers.
