New Commanders Owner Josh Harris Takes the Field
A recent story in the Washington Post details the positive impression new owner Josh Harris (MBA 1990) is having on the Washington Commanders.
Harris grew up nearby in Chevy Chase, MD, and the article notes that he told the team that he used to attend games at RFK stadium as a child. "I loved it, man," veteran cornerback Kendall Fuller told the Post about his impression of Harris's talk. "Just him wanting to get out here and be a part of it—that definitely goes a long way."
Harris is no stranger to sports ownership. His Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) group also owns the NHL's New Jersey Devils and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. At an introductory press conference, he discussed how those experiences have shaped his approach. "[Y]ou win championships with the best people in the front office, the best coaching staff," Harris said. "You win by investing. You win by creating a fan experience where people want to come out and support the team. …And you win by creating an amazing culture, which we talked about is about respect, inclusivity, and diversity."
