Immersive Field Courses Take the Classroom on the Road
As part of the HBS Elective Curriculum, MBA students can enroll in an Immersive Field Course (IFC). These courses are driven by faculty research and industry connections and provide students with an opportunity to get out of the classroom and put the skills they’ve learned into practice. The immersion locations vary each year based on the IFC portfolio. Below are some highlights of this year’s IFC.
Denmark and the Netherlands
Professors Michael Toffel and Willy Shih took 43 EC students to Denmark and the Netherlands as part of Decarbonization and Sustainable Production. Students visited companies and organizations that are decades ahead of the US in how they are thinking about and implementing technologies and processes to mitigate climate change. Ghana
In Doing Business Across Africa, with Professor Hakeem Belo-Osagie, students heard from President Nana Akufo-Addo, who discussed the challenge their country faces creating future opportunities for the younger generation. Read more.
London
In Entrepreneurship in the UK and Europe, with Professors Greg Marsh and Jeffrey Rayport, students got a surprise visit from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He discussed the state of entrepreneurship and startups in the UK. Watch the video.
