New Director Named for Mid-US Research Office
Alicia Dadlani (MBA 2003) has been announced as director of the School’s new Mid-US Research Office.
The Mid-US Research Office joins 10 HBS research centers and five regional offices located around the world. In order to capitalize on the varied geographic, demographic, and business make-up of the Mid-US region, the new office will be the School’s first “networked” office, with Dadlani based in Columbus, Ohio and additional staff and researchers eventually operating from strategic locations throughout the region.
Dadlani is an accomplished business professional with experience in international business, communications, and finance. As director of the Mid-US Research Office, she will develop and extend relationships with business leaders and others across the region to contribute to the development of intellectual capital and programming at HBS.
“We are excited to launch this new phase of the School’s research efforts,” said Victoria W. Winston, executive director of the HBS Global Initiative. “Alicia will work closely with HBS faculty and experts in the field, developing case studies, managing research projects, performing in-depth field and on-line research, and representing the School. This will include serving as a key source of new research and curriculum content on a wide range of fields, including finance, technology, marketing, accounting and control, strategy, and entrepreneurship, to develop further insight into business challenges and innovations in the Mid-US context.”
Dadlani also will be instrumental in supporting student programming, working closely with Boston-based HBS staff, while at the same time strengthening relationships with alumni and building strong partnerships in the region.
Professor Dennis Campbell will serve as Faculty Chair for the Mid-US Research Office; its work will be conducted in coordination with the new HBS Institute for the Study of Business in Global Society (BiGS), to be led by Professor Debora Spar, Senior Associate Dean, Business and Global Society. “The role of business in society has never been more important, whether in shaping a more inclusive capitalism, tackling complex challenges such as climate change and racial equity, or building and leading a more diverse workforce,” said Professor Spar. “I look forward to working with the new Mid-US Research Office as we undertake new research and convening events that will allow our ideas to have maximum impact and reach the widest possible audience.”
