Sal Khan (MBA 2003) Awarded Honorary Degree by Harvard
Sal Khan (MBA 2003) was one of seven people recognized with an honorary degree during Harvard’s Honoring the Class of 2021 ceremony.
Khan is the founder and CEO of online education nonprofit Khan Academy, which has some 100 million registered users and whose videos “have been translated into dozens of languages and have been viewed more than 1.8 billion times,” as noted in the Gazette announcement.
In addition to Khan Academy, the announcement notes that Khan is the author of “The One World Schoolhouse: Education Reimagined” and the “founding CEO of schoolhouse.world, a free online peer-to-peer tutoring resource meant to complement Khan Academy.”
Khan spoke to the Bulletin last year as part of a conversation with Senior Lecturer John Kim about the pandemic’s lasting impact on education.
