Kevin Mayer (MBA 1990) has left his position leading Disney’s streaming business to take over the video-sharing platform TikTok, reports the New York Times.
“I was happy with my job at Disney,” Mayer told the Times. “The magnitude of this opportunity was just something I couldn’t pass up.” The article notes TikTok’s rising popularity, citing its 1.9 billion global downloads—which includes 172 million downloads in the US alone.
