Ann Sarnoff To Lead Warner Bros. Studio
Former BBC executive Ann Sarnoff (MBA 1987) has been named the CEO of Warner Bros.—the company’s first-ever female CEO.
As detailed in the New York Times, Sarnoff’s career “has included leadership roles at Nickelodeon, the Women’s National Basketball Association, Dow Jones and BBC America.” As for the road ahead, Sarnoff tells the Times that in the near term she’ll be focused on learning and listening. “I literally need to step on the lot. It’s such an iconic studio with such a strong management team. …I want to hear from the team and jointly develop strategies.”
In an interview with Deadline, Sarnoff also discussed the challenge of meeting the needs of the modern audience. “We need to emotionally connect with our audiences and build a connection that can last into future generations,” she told Deadline. “They’re experiencing entertainment differently than any generation previously.”
