Patricia F. Bilden & Philip M. Bilden, MBA 1991
From the day he first set foot on Soldiers Field, Philip Bilden, managing director of HarbourVest Partners’ Asia business in Hong Kong, knew the relationships formed at HBS would have an enduring impact beyond Aldrich Hall. “For me as well as my wife, Patricia, my HBS classmates are among our closest friends and have enriched our family’s life over the years.”
The relationships Bilden formed at HBS have also shaped his career. After completing his MBA in 1991, he joined a promising firm in Boston founded by HBS graduates that is today a worldwide leader in the private equity asset class. “I have been fortunate to build a great business and invest in numerous ventures with HBS alumni around the globe,” Bilden says. “Knowing that HBS alumni share common values has been good for both business and friendships.”
With many HBS connections throughout the world, it is no surprise that Bilden has been a leader within the Class of 1991, driving fundraising efforts for both the 15th and 20th Reunion Campaigns. A member of HBS’s Asia-Pacific Advisory Board, Bilden is particularly interested in supporting the School’s centers in the Asia-Pacific region, he says, “to keep HBS at the cutting edge of global research, which is at the core of the School’s leadership among MBA programs.”
