A Streamlined Time Inc.
This week, Rich Battista (MBA 1990) was named president and CEO of Time Inc. Among Battista’s first moves was appointing Jen Wong (MBA 2004) as chief operating officer; Wong was previously president of digital for the company.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Battista, who was previously executive vice president of Time Inc. and president of brands, laid out his vision for a more efficient and innovative future for the 94-year-old media company:
“There’s clearly some disruption going on in the marketplace and we’re making some moves that we think are going to position us really well. Not only do we create this amazing, premium content, and we also produce at scale, but at the same time, we’re actually taking that content and layering on top of it technology and data insights and targeting opportunities that are creating a whole slew of new opportunities for us, so that we can offer compelling stuff to advertisers and marketers.”
