As former chief secretary to the British Treasury under Prime Minister Gordon Brown, MP and former entrepreneur Liam Byrne (MBA 2010) has had plenty of opportunity for success, failure, and reflection. Asked what his one change would be to the financial world, Byrne responded directly: “I would ensure that every young person is taught how to write a business plan during his or her time at school,” he told the Telegraph. “…I am evangelical about making Britain an entrepreneurial democracy. That is my personal mission.” This month, the father of three (who describes himself as more of a “saver” than a “spender”) publishes Dragons: 10 Entrepreneurs Who Built Britain.
