Dean Kim B. Clark and several HBS faculty members attended the World Economic Forum's annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, in February. Considered to be the world's foremost economic conference, this year's gathering, titled "Priorities for the 21st Century," attracted more than fifteen hundred world leaders from the business, political, and academic arenas.
Clark took part in three panel discussions: "Strategies for the 21st Century," "Innovating for Success: Best Practice Is Going Global," and "Can We Teach Corporate Responsibility?" He also spoke at the annual Harvard reception and dinner, co-hosted by Bert Twaalfhoven (MBA '54) and Rahul Bajaj (MBA '64), which was attended by more than seventy alumni and friends.
Professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter, who wrote the lead article in the World Economic Forum's World Link magazine, which was distributed at the conference, was a panelist on a session titled "Management Update: Business Strategy," a featured speaker for the "25 Years of Business Strategy" discussion, and the moderator of a corporate citizenship panel. Professor Robert S. Kaplan moderated a session titled "Staying One Step Ahead: Winning through the Balanced Scorecard," while Professor Joseph L. Bower's session was titled "The Urge to Merge: Is Bigger Always Better?"
The World Economic Forum is a membership organization that promotes interaction among leaders from government, business, academia, and the arts with the objective of "improving the state of the world."
