Excitement Building for HBS Global Conference in Chicago
Topics: Communication-ConferencesEntrepreneurship is the focus for the 1998 Global Alumni Conference, "2000+: Global Innovation & Entrepreneurial Leadership," scheduled for June 16-19 at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. Over one thousand alumni and guests are expected at this year's event, which will showcase the innovations of established companies and examine how emerging growth firms are developing competitive products and strategies for the global marketplace.
Over a dozen presentations and panel discussions on topics such as entrepreneurial marketing, high-tech product development, global real estate, market-driven health care, and creativity will draw on the expertise of HBS faculty and a distinguished group of practitioners noted for their entrepreneurial successes.
"Recent research has shown that a large percentage of our alumni describe themselves as entrepreneurs," notes Professor F. Warren McFarlan, senior associate dean and director of External Relations at HBS. "This conference will offer our graduates the latest research on this dynamic subject while providing an extraordinary opportunity to network and exchange ideas with leaders in the field. We anticipate a large and enthusiastic turnout."
