"The Blonde Salad", biohacking, and more

Case study subject Chiara Ferragni—the fashion designer/blogger best known as The Blonde Salad—took a break from New York Fashion Week to visit HBS professor Anat Keinan’s new Luxury Marketing elective. Ferragni sent a selfie with the class out to her 3.3 million Instagram followers.

 

The parade of crimson robes with velvet sleeve patches—the Commencement dress code for doctoral recipients—was a bit longer than usual this year, with a record 28 students celebrating the completion of their DBA and PhD degrees.

The inaugural HBS Biohacking Conference featured a keynote by David Asprey, creator of Bulletproof Coffee—a drink that promises increased mental focus, among other benefits—as well as addresses by an international memory champion and the CEO of a company that produces a headband that measures brain signals.

 

Before the former Baker Hall reopened as Esteves Hall in April, 165 HBS staffers spent a night eating and sleeping in the newly renovated Executive Education facilities to make sure everything was shipshape for the first students.
