Quelch in Vietnam
Topics: Economics-Developing Countries and EconomiesMarkets-Emerging MarketsResearch-GeneralHBS professor and senior associate dean John Quelch met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at a reception in Hanoi in September. The prime minister briefed Quelch on his country’s economic situation, outlined its ongoing development as a market-based economy, and asked for Harvard’s assistance. Said Dung, “Vietnam is in great need of support from international organizations and academic institutions for developing good human resources.” Quelch was in Vietnam to conduct research.
