What’s Going on Here?

Who, what, where, when, and why….we’d appreciate any information that will help us identify what’s going on in this photograph plucked from the archives of Baker Library.

Please contact us at bulletin@hbs.edu, or HBS Alumni Bulletin, Teele Hall 361, Soldiers Field, Boston, MA 02163.

We’ll update you on what we have learned in the next issue. Thank you!

LAST ISSUE’S LAST LOOK: Thanks to Paul Anderson (MBA ’85), John Gaffney (MBA ’84), Kern Lewis (MBA '85) , and Ed Lomas (MBA ’85) for identifying this exuberant chorus line from the 1984 HBS Show, Family Affairs. Gaffney, one of the head writers, elaborates: “If I remember right, they are singing ‘Sharing Lunch with Me,’ to the tune of ‘Dancing in the Street.’ That particular scene was a spoof of the Tony Sarto case. (I can’t remember the name of the case, but Sarto was a dominant character.) Richard Whitmore (MBA ’84) was the main writer of the lyrics to that song.” Anderson espies Joel Manby (MBA ’85) on the far right side, and Lomas believes “the woman second from the right is Margo Steinberg (MBA ’85), who later became an actress on stage in London and in New York.” Gaffney sees Elaine Sears Miller (MBA ’85) and 1984 classmates Tom Kolepp, Lisa Rakov St. John, Ava Zydor, and Harold Celms. Lewis sees his arm and leg at the extreme left and 1985 classmates Steve Kim to his left and Rick Kulow behind Steinberg.
