Boutique workouts brought to the busiest people, at home
As a former investment banking analyst and private equity associate, Prita Kumar (MBA 2014) knows what it means to be busy—so busy, in fact, that it was nearly impossible to incorporate the boutique fitness classes she cherished into her schedule. After witnessing many of her peers face similar challenges, she was inspired to build her first entrepreneurial venture, Booya Fitness.
“Think of it as the Netflix for high-end fitness workouts,” says Kumar. Produced in 30-minute video segments, Booya makes it easy for even the busiest professionals to grab boutique-quality workouts at home from a convenient online platform. “I’d love to create the official fitness platform for the Lean In generation, people want to stay active but have very little time,” says Kumar.
In just her first two months of operation, with almost no marketing budget, she has attracted thousands of unique visitors to her site. Booya Fitness will soon be featured in national magazines. “I launched it recently,” Kumar says, “but the traction has been strong enough that I know Booya Fitness will be my focus after graduation.”
