Helping high achievers achieve even more
As cofounder of Summit Partners, E. Roe Stamps IV (MBA 1974) spurred economic growth and created jobs in a broad range of industries, from fiber optics to pathology laboratories, to electronics and semiconductor manufacturers. Established in 1984, Summit Partners is a leading private equity and venture capital firm that has invested in, and provided strategic guidance to, more than 365 businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Stamps passed the torch to his management team in 2001 so that he could focus his considerable energy on the family foundation that he and his wife, Penny, run. The couple has partnered with some two dozen (and counting) universities around the country to offer millions of dollars in merit scholarships to the very best and brightest students.
"Inspired by the impact our university experiences have had on our own lives, we have chosen to support exceptional students in their pursuit of higher education," says Stamps. "We are building a community of high achievers and helping them to achieve even more."
