A snapshot of the MBA Programs newest recruits reveals that this years incoming class chosen from a pool of 7,140 applicants represents a select, diverse group of individuals hailing from 67 countries around the world. As the new MBA candidates settled into life at Soldiers Field, the Class of 2004 embarked on new careers. Thanks to an improved hiring climate and active marketing outreach by MBA Career Services, the number of job openings posted for HBS students increased by 20 percent over last year. At graduation, 94 percent of the Class of 2004 had received job offers; 84 percent had accepted one, with a median base salary of about $100,000 and a median total compensation of $140,000 an increase from last years figures of $93,300 and $115,000, respectively, when 77 percent had accepted a job by graduation.
