Spangler |
C.D. (Dick) Spangler, Jr. (MBA 1956) was elected president of Harvard Universitys Board of Overseers for 20032004. He began his duties in June.
Dick Spangler is a wise man, said Harvard University President Lawrence H. Summers. It has been my good fortune to know him these past few years and to benefit from his counsel, his thoughtful judgment, and his strong sense of values. Spangler, who was president of the University of North Carolina system for eleven years, is a longtime friend and generous supporter of HBS and currently serves as chair of The Campaign for Harvard Business School.
Cronin |
Also newly elected to the board is Michael F. Cronin (MBA 1977), cofounder and managing partner of Boston-based Weston Presidio, a leading private-equity firm. Cronin, one of six new overseers, is a graduate of Harvard College. He has also contributed greatly over the years to HBS. Cronin currently is chairman of the HBS Fund, the latest of a number of volunteer positions he has held on behalf of the School.
