If you haven’t already taken a look at the HBS Institutional Memory Web site, don’t miss it: http://institutionalmemory.hbs.edu/. Since it was launched in February in conjunction with the School’s centennial celebration, the site has steadily added to its treasure trove of information and reminiscences, and it continues to do so.
From the homepage you can dive into four distinct areas.
Inquiry and Innovation explores the School’s ongoing responses to key questions: What makes a profession? How do you educate to transform? What knowledge is useful? How do we define success?
The Photo Gallery is a real trip down memory lane, with hundreds of photos divided into two dozen categories and also accessible by year.
The Timeline is a truly remarkable feat of interactive programming. Start with 1908, when the School was founded, and browse through key events right up to 2008.
Lastly, the Community Narratives section offers video recollections of retired and current faculty, and alumni leaders. In addition, it presents a collection of over 140 poignant and humorous stories by HBS alumni, staff, faculty, community members and students.
Fall reunion participants can sign up for a video storytelling session while on campus. Attendees at the Centennial Business Summit will have a chance to record their stories on Sunday evening, October 12. Not planning to attend either? Phone in your story for recording at a toll-free number: 877-533-4233 domestic; 617-495-6332 international. You can even e-mail your story to storytelling@hbs.edu. See the Web site for details.
