The Chinese have a long tradition of gift giving, so it wasn’t a complete surprise when the seventeen executives who completed Executive Education’s 2010 Global CEO Program for China decided to show appreciation for their experience. They chose to donate $155,000 to support HBS’s Immersion Experience Program (IXP) in China.
The IXP program provides MBA students with two weeks of field-based experience during the January Term. The China IXP Fund “is a pathbreaking gift,” says HBS senior fellow Regina Abrami, faculty chair of the IXP program. The executives who funded it are eager to meet with HBS students. “This is the kind of access that students don’t often get,” adds Abrami.
