Form EEO-1 is a federal document that all business organizations with more than 100
employees must complete. It lists the number of individuals of specified racial and
ethnic backgrounds at eight different levels of the organization.

Employee Resource Groups are employee groups composed of members who share a particular
identity (African-American, LGBTQ, etc.) By sponsoring an ERG, a company shows that
it recognizes the importance of career development issues that may be associated with
membership in a particular identity.

Institutional cultural and climate surveys have emerged as a best practice for understanding
the ways in which the organizational culture promotes or inhibits its employees in
making their strongest contributions facilitated by a day-to-day working environment
that empowers them to do so.
Does your organization facilitate dialogue around race, whether by internal or external
experts?
The use of highly skilled external facilitators can be effective in allowing members
of an organization to engage in authentic and confidential discussion about their
employment experience.
