Ellen (HGSE ’86) is the Director of Outward Bound Professional/Facilitator at Thompson Island Outward Bound Professional where she is responsible for business development and corporate team and leadership development. Ellen enjoys working with international students and alumni (​including those from ExEd leadership programs AMP,GMP, PLD) as well as those without traditional business backgrounds​, especially people transitioning from military. With an unconventional 25+ year career path, Ellen especially likes to help students and alumni uncover connections and see practical next career steps that may not be readily obvious. Her background in advertising and marketing, and subsequently Organizational Behavior and Development/Facilitation/Consulting, shaped her belief that students and alumni generally have a good idea of their direction, yet it is through discussion and challenging questions that practical next steps become clear.

Work Experience: Corporate Training (Digital Equipment Corporation), Consulting, Advertising/Marketing (Hill Holliday, Gillette), Social Enterprise/Non-Profit (Outward Bound), HBS Exec Ed and teaching Organizational Behavior at Harvard Extension School, interested in coaching across industries and functions. Clients include: Boston Bruins, Biogen, Novartis, Bain Capital, BCG, McKinsey, Harvard departments as well as graduate programs, MIT, INSEAD Business School, Hult International Business School and EF, P&G, Barnes Group, HP, Converse, Genzyme, Sandvik, Dresdner Bank, Allianz and Massachusetts General Hospital.
