Spring 2006 Reunion Features Faculty Research

2006 HBS Business Plan Contest Winners Have Sights Set on China
On April 25, Harvard Business School conducted the finals of its tenth annual Business Plan Contest. First place in the traditional track was awarded to 8Baorice (pronounced bow-bow-rice) for its plan to create an online community for Chinese women. In the social enterprise track, winner of the concept phase was Yashmere, a venture that would bring revenue to one of China's poorest regions by exporting yashmere yarn to the U.S. The winner of the pilot phase was Mountains for Miracles, a venture that leverages the founders' world-class mountain-climbing skills to launch a $5 million fundraising campaign for pediatric oncology.
