Can Money Buy Happiness? Assistant Professor Michael Norton says that people who believe money leads to happiness are right, but it's the giving—rather than the having—that leads to feelings of personal well-being. Read this Working Knowledge interview and find out why Norton says that companies might want to think creatively about how to encourage employees to spend their bonuses and expand opportunities for charitable giving.

Developing Creative Employees Global competition has dramatically increased the need for creative solutions—and the employees who can come up with them. Yet most managers don't make it a priority to develop creative employees, often because they see creativity as "magical" or innate. Professor Teresa Amabile tells The Gazette of Montreal that creative thinking can be learned and that it should be supported by managers just like any other aspect of business. Get Amabile's prescription for fostering creative problem solvers in your organization.
