Dean Light Speaks on the Future of Management Education

Dean Jay O. Light recently took part in celebrations commemorating milestone anniversaries of two leading European business schools where HBS has a long tradition of collaboration. Students at Paris's HEC School of Management and Barcelona's IESE Business School listened to Dean Light discuss the shifting landscape of management education and the continuing importance of the MBA in the context of "worldwide changes (that) make business leadership and judgment more important than ever." To commemorate the occasion, HEC named Dean Light a member of the school's honorary faculty.

HBS Working Knowledge: Beauty Entrepreneur Madam C.J. Walker

How did the daughter of newly emancipated slaves on a Louisiana plantation become a spectacularly successful beauty industry entrepreneur? Madam C.J. Walker created a business model based on effective products, personal charisma, and "beauty evangelism" to become, by some accounts, the first "self-made" African American millionaire. Find out more in this Working Knowledge interview with HBS Professor Nancy F. Koehn, co-author of a new case on Walker:
