Drew Gilpin Faust

Drew Gilpin Faust Named President of Harvard University

Drew Gilpin Faust, Dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and Lincoln Professor of History, was named Harvard's 28th President on February 11, 2007, after the University's Board of Overseers voted to approve her appointment. Faust, 59, will be the first woman to lead Harvard in the University's 371-year history when she takes office, July 1, 2007. She succeeds Lawrence H. Summers and Interim President Derek C. Bok.
