Recent Fellowships
Each year, numerous alumni, friends and companies commit to investing in our students by establishing need-based fellowships. Today more than 450 funds support nearly 900 students annually. Below are the fellowships created in the last 5 years.

- Iftikar A. (MBA 1999) and Shalini (MBA 2002) Ahmed Fellowship
The Iftikar A. and Shalini Ahmed Fellowship was established through the generosity of Iftikar Ahmed, MBA 1999 and Shalini Ahmed, MBA 2002 in honor of their 10th reunions. Mr. Ahmed is a general partner with Oak Investment Partners, where he currently focuses on investing across the technology sector, with an active interest in communications, interactive media, clean energy, and consumer internet companies. He also manages The Julhash Ali Foundation, a philanthropic effort started in the memory of his father, dedicated towards improving the lives of impoverished women and children in India. He is an engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Mrs. Ahmed is a vice president at Goldman Sachs, where she serves as a member of the Growth team and focuses on equity investment research. She is involved with various charitable organizations with a focus on women and children's issues. She holds an undergraduate degree in Economics, with a certificate in Computer Science, from Princeton University. It is the donors' hope that this fund encourages women or students with an interest in the nonprofit sector to pursue MBA degrees at the School.
- Alam-Rahmatullah (MBA 2005) Fellowship
The Alam-Rahmatullah Fellowship was established through the generosity of Samira Rahmatullah and Q. Munir Alam, MBA 2005, in honor of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Alam is a managing member at Watershed Asset Management. Previously, he was an associate at Nautic Partners and a financial analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse First Boston. He is a graduate of Middlebury College. Mrs. Rahmatullah is a consultant at FSG Social Impact Advisors, a nonprofit consulting and research firm. Prior to joining FSG, she was a financial analyst in JPMorgan's Tax Exempt Capital Markets Group. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Barnard College, Columbia University. This fund is to be awarded to students who are from Bangladesh or who have international nonprofit business experience.

The Anonymous Fellowship was established through the generosity of an anonymous member of the MBA Class of 1971. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Brion (MBA 1980) and Sabrina Applegate Fellowship
The Brion and Sabrina Applegate Fellowship was established through the generosity of Sabrina and Brion Applegate, MBA 1980, in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Applegate began his career in private equity at TA Associates, in 1979, between his first and second year at HBS, and continued after graduation with Burr, Egan, Deleage & Company. In 1994, he co-founded Spectrum Equity Investors, which has grown from managing an initial fund of $100 million to total capital under management of $4.7 billion. He is a 1976 graduate, and trustee, of Colgate University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who have graduated from Colgate University.
- Nolan D. Archibald (MBA 1970) Fellowship
The Nolan D. Archibald Fellowship was established together with friends by Nolan Archibald, MBA 1970. At present, Mr. Archibald is chairman, president, and CEO of Black & Decker. When appointed president and CEO in March 1986, at the age of 42, Mr. Archibald was the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company. He was elected to the additional post of chairman in December 1986. A dedicated alumnus of HBS, Mr. Archibald served on the Board of Dean's Advisors from 1994 to 2000, has been a consistent supporter of his class fundraising campaigns, and is currently a member of the Harvard University Council on University Resources. An All-American basketball player in college, he is a graduate of Weber State University in Utah. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are graduates of Brigham Young University and who are married, with families.
- Arlene and Fredo Arias Fellowship
The Arlene and Fredo Arias Fellowship was established through the generosity of Fredo Arias-King (MBA 1996) in honor of his parents, Arlene and Fredo Arias, both democracy activists. Mr. Arias-King is president of the pine oil manufacturer T&R Chemicals. He launched a massive reforestation project in Mexico in partnership with indigenous communities, greenandtapped.org, which will enable them to be self-sustaining. A graduate of American University, Mr. Arias-King has authored two books on transitions to democracy. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a background or interest in environmentally sustainable business, social enterprise, or reforestation, including members of the student-led HBS Energy and Environment Club and the Social Enterprise Club.
- Isik Kececi Asur (MBA 1997) and Mustafa Asur Fellowship
The Isik Kececi Asur and Mustafa Asur Fellowship was established through the generosity of Isik Kececi Asur (MBA 1997) and Mustafa Asur. After founding consumer businesses in Turkey, Ms. Asur led several mergers and acquisitions projects throughout Europe and the United States as director of corporate development for Bertelsmann AG. She is the founder of Shaya Turkey, a multibrand retail operation that led the successful launch of over 20 brands in Turkey, including Starbucks. In 2007, Ms. Asur founded Aragon Capital with investments in Caffe Nero, one of the leading coffee house operators in the world. She is a member of the board of Endeavor Turkey. It is the Asurs' hope that this fellowship will encourage entrepreneurs to pursue an MBA at HBS.
- Yat-Pang (MBA 2000) and Helina Au Fellowship
The Yat-Pang and Helina Au Fellowship was established through the generosity of Yat-Pang Au (MBA 2000). Mr. Au is founder, chairman, and CEO of Veritas Investments Inc., one of the largest multifamily investment firms in San Francisco, with a particular emphasis on historic buildings. He serves on the board of International Technological University, a nonprofit university providing graduate education programs in engineering and business administration. Mr. Au is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University. It is his hope that this fellowship will support MBA students with an interest in real estate.
- Professor James E. Austin (MBA 1968, DBA 1972) Fellowship
The Professor James E. Austin Fellowship was established through the generosity of HBS friends and alumni in recognition of Professor James E. Austin (MBA 1968, DBA 1972). Professor Austin joined the HBS faculty in 1972 and has held three chaired professorships; he is currently the Eliot I. Snider and Family Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus. A founder and former chair of the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative, Professor Austin is a leading expert on management in developing countries and social entrepreneurship. He is the author, co-author, or editor of more than 20 books, dozens of articles, and more than 100 case studies. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are social entrepreneurs, have a background in social enterprise, are from Latin America, or are from underrepresented groups at HBS.
- Skardon Francis D'aubert Baker (MBA 1999) Fellowship
The Skardon Francis D'aubert Baker Fellowship was established through the generosity of Skardon Baker, MBA 1999 in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Baker is a managing director at Oaktree Capital Management, where he specializes in distressed debt and turn-around private equity investments in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Oaktree, Mr. Baker spent time at JP Morgan Chase as a vice president for the M&A Group and as a director and associate at The Beacon Group. Mr. Baker formerly worked as a chief speechwriter and special assistant to then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, and served as a lieutenant in the United States Army. Mr. Baker holds his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and JD from the University of Texas School of Law. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a military background or an interest in public service.
- James M. Barclay Fellowship
The James M. Barclay Fellowship was established through the generosity of Timothy Duncanson (MBA 1997) in honor of his grandfather, Captain James M. Barclay, who was killed in action in the early hours of June 6, 1944, on Juno Beach, Normandy, France, while serving with the 14th Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery as a forward observation officer. Captain Barclay was a graduate of the University of Toronto (BSc 1936) and the University of Michigan (MSc 1938) and was a member of Phi Sigma. He was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Artillery in June 1940. Mr. Duncanson is a managing director of Onex Corporation. Previously, he served as an associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Lazard Freres & Co. LLC. He is a director of TMS International Corp. and Tropicana Las Vegas, Inc., and serves on the Executive Board of Huron University College, his undergraduate alma mater, as its past chair. He is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School (MPP 1997) and holds a chartered financial analyst designation. It is Mr. Duncanson's desire to support students from his grandfather's home country.
- Robert E. Bennett (MBA 1986) Memorial Fellowship
The Robert E. Bennett Memorial Fellowship was established through the generosity of colleagues, classmates, and friends of Robert E. Bennett (MBA 1986) at the time of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Bennett was a man of exceptional character, loyalty, warmth, humor, and intelligence, who died at the age of 50 after a six-year battle with cancer. He spent 17 years at Berkshire Hathaway under its legendary chairman, Warren Buffett, leading General Reinsurance and serving as chairman of XTRA Lease. Mr. Bennett was an All-American lacrosse goalie and team co-captain at Phillips Exeter Academy. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University and was a Baker Scholar at HBS. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students, with preference for second-year students who receive first-year honors or first-year students who exemplify strong leadership skills in scholarship and/or athletics.
- Varun K. Bery (MBA 1985) Fellowship
The Varun K. Bery Fellowship was established through the generosity of Varun K. Bery (MBA 1985) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Bery is managing director and co-founder of TVG Capital Partners, an international private equity firm. He has been involved in Asian communications businesses for more than 15 years. Previously, he was director of telecom at the Asian Infrastructure Fund; director of telecom and media investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York; and a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in New York and Tokyo. Mr. Bery, a graduate of Yale University, has served on the boards of several leading Asian companies and as vice chairman of the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association's Executive Committee. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from India.
- Berylson Family (MBA 1979) Fellowship
The Berylson Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Amy Berylson, MBA 1979, and John Berylson, MBA 1979. Close friends of both the School and the University, the Berylsons have served on several class reunion fundraising committees at HBS, and Mrs. Berylson is a member of both the Committee on University Resources and the Committee to Visit the College. Mr. Berylson is the chairman of Chestnut Hill Ventures. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- The Mace P. Blicksilver (MBA 1980) Endowed Fellowship
The Mace P. Blicksilver Endowed Fellowship was established through the generosity of Mace P. Blicksilver, MBA 1980. Mr. Blicksilver founded Marblehead Trading Group in 1998 to conduct proprietary option arbitrage trading. Prior to that, he held managerial and trading positions at several major Wall Street firms. Mr. Blicksilver graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Brooklyn College in 1976 before earning his MBA with distinction from HBS. He and his wife, Deborah (Deemer), live in Sands Point, New York, with their two children. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who attended Brooklyn College or other public colleges.
- Brock (MBA 1983) Family Fellowship
The Brock Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jane Brock-Wilson, MBA 1983, in honor of her 25th Reunion. Ms. Brock-Wilson joined Berkshire Partners, a Boston based private equity firm, in 1991 and has been a managing director since 1994. Prior to Berkshire, she was a partner at Bain & Company, a global business consulting firm. She received her Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 1978. Ms. Brock-Wilson has an abiding commitment to encourage and support women in business. It is her hope that her positive experiences at HBS and this fund will encourage women to pursue MBA and/or doctoral degrees at the School.
- Kenneth D. Brody (MBA 1971) International Endowment
The Kenneth D. Brody International Endowment was established through the generosity of Kenneth Brody, MBA 1971, in celebration of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Brody is a co-founder of Taconic Capital Advisors, an event-driven hedge fund. Previously, he spent 20 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he co-headed the firm's longterm principal investing activities and was a general partner and a member of the Management Committee. From 1993 to 1996, he served as president and chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Mr. Brody originally established this fund to assist managers from the Czech Republic in gaining general management and business skills through the School's Executive Education programs. He later expanded the fund terms to support deserving MBA students from developing countries, with a preference for students from Central Europe or Asia.
- Margaret D. and Leroy T. Carlson (MBA 1941) Fellowship
The Margaret D. and LeRoy T. Carlson Fellowship was established through the generosity of Catherine C. Mouly and LeRoy T. Carlson, Jr., MBA 1971, and Margaret D. and LeRoy T. Carlson, MBA 1941. Mr. Carlson (MBA 1941) founded Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (TDS) in 1969 with the acquisition of 10 small, rural, independent Wisconsin telephone companies. Headquartered in Chicago, TDS has grown to serve more than 7 million customers in 36 states and has revenue of over $5 billion. The son of Swedish immigrants from Chicago's south side, Mr. Carlson is a graduate of the University of Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from HBS. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Eleanor and Leslie Carr Fellowship
The Eleanor and Leslie Carr Fellowship was established through the generosity of Dayton Carr, MBA 1965, in honor of his parents. Mr. Carr is the founder and president of Venture Capital Fund of America, Inc., the first investment firm to specialize in the purchase of secondary interests in private equity funds. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with entrepreneurial backgrounds or career interests in entrepreneurship.
- Cashin (MBA 1980) Family Fellowship
The Cashin Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Elizabeth and Richard Cashin (MBA 1980). Mr. Cashin is managing partner of One Equity Partners, a private equity firm managing over $5 billion of investments and commitments for JPMorgan Chase & Co. An accomplished rower, he was a member of the US rowing team in two Olympic Games. Mr. Cashin is a graduate of Harvard College. Ms. Cashin has been director of underwriting and consulted with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation in New York, making development loans to neighborhood-based community nonprofits and securing funding for low-income projects. She is a graduate of Radcliffe College and of the University of California, Berkeley. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Castaing Addimando (MBA 2005) Family Fellowship
The Castaing Addimando Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Brigitte and Leo Addimando, both MBA 2005, in honor of their 5th Reunion. Mrs. Castaing Addimando has spent the past two years launching new businesses for Energy Plus. Before attending HBS, she worked for Honda Performance Development, where she led a team supporting the CART and IndyCar series. She is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Duke University. Mr. Addimando founded 806 Capital, LLC, in 2002 and has over 15 years of entrepreneurial, investment, and management experience across multiple industries. He is currently a managing partner of 806 in Philadelphia and manages all aspects of its operations and development. Mr. Addimando was an early employee of Orbitz.com and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. This fund is to be awarded to students with a background in mechanical engineering or other engineering disciplines.
- Ruth Mulan Chu and James Si-Cheng Chao Family Fellowship
The Ruth Mulan Chu and James Si-Cheng Chao Family Fellowship was established to honor the life and legacy of the late Ruth Mulan Chu Chao through the generosity of James Si-Cheng Chao and their daughters, four of whom attended the MBA Program: Elaine L. Chao, 1979; May M. Chao, 1985; Christine J. Chao; Grace L. Chao, 1997; and Angela Chao, 2001. The Chao family's generosity was inspired not only by their personal connections to HBS, but by their mother's passion for education. Born in Anhui, China, Mrs. Chao immigrated to America with her then three children to join her husband, who had arrived three years earlier. She earned her own master's degree at age 53. Mrs. Chao is remembered for her spirit of altruism, generosity toward others, and contributions to society. It is the Chao family's hope that this fellowship will support MBA students who are from China or whose families are from China.
- Paul R. Charron (MBA 1971) Fellowship for Veterans
The Paul R. Charron Fellowship for Veterans was established through the generosity of Paul R. Charron (MBA 1971) in honor of his 40th Reunion. Mr. Charron is the former chairman and CEO of Liz Claiborne Inc. He previously served as senior adviser of the global private equity firm Warburg Pincus and is chairman of the board of Campbell Soup Company. He has served as an officer of numerous business and trade groups, including the National Retail Federation. He is sector head at the Retail and Tourism Group of the New York City Investment Fund, director of Vital Voices Global Partnership, and a member of the US Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a former lieutenant in the US Navy. Mr. Charron's desire to support fellow veterans of the US military inspired him to create this MBA fellowship.
- Checchi (MBA 1974) Family Fellowship
The Checchi Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Kathryn and Al Checchi, MBA 1974 in honor of his 35th Reunion. Mr. Checchi has enjoyed an illustrious career in the corporate world, including time at Marriott Corporation, Bass Brother Enterprises, and the creation of Al Checchi Associates. Mr. Checchi is well known for his leadership of Northwest Airlines in the nineties. He is a trained attorney from Georgetown University and also received a masters degree in romance languages from Harvard University. The family legacy of HBS continues with their son Adam Checchi, MBA 2003, daughter in-law Alison Checchi, MBA 2004, and daughter Kristin Checchi, MBA 2007, who have all established themselves in their own right. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Ambassador Chih-ping Chen and Lilleo Wong Chen Fellowship
The Ambassador Chih-ping Chen and Lilleo Wong Chen Fellowship was established through the generosity of the Chens' son, Dr. Michael Shih-Ta Chen (MBA 1972). Ambassador Chen served as ambassador of the Republic of China from 1946 to 1972. Prior to his diplomatic appointments, he served the Chinese government in China, Singapore, Burma, and India. From 1972 to 1984, he was a national policy advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to the president of the Republic of China. Dr. Chen serves as executive director of the HBS Asia-Pacific Research Center (APRC). Prior to joining the APRC in October 2005, Dr. Chen worked in both the private and public sectors. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a PhD in economics from Cornell University. It is Dr. Chen's hope that this fellowship will support MBA students from greater China.
- John S. Clark II Fellowship
The John S. Clark II Fellowship was established through the generosity of John S. ("Josh") Clark II (MBA 2002) in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Clark is a partner in Southpoint Capital, a New York–based hedge fund, which he cofounded in 2004. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mr. Clark ran GameSouth, a specialty vending company headquartered in Atlanta, until joining Greenlight Capital in 2002. It is Mr. Clark's hope that this fellowship will support MBA students from the southern United States, particularly Mississippi.
- Confidential Fellowship
The Confidential Fellowship was established through the generosity of a confidential donor. While the donor has enjoyed a distinguished and fulfilling career in business, it was not without its challenges as a woman in a predominantly male field. The donor has an abiding commitment to encourage and support women in business. Therefore, it is her hope that her positive experiences in the business world and this fund will encourage women to pursue MBA degrees at the School.
- Edward W. Conard (MBA 1982) Fellowship
The Edward W. Conard Fellowship was established through the generosity of Edward W. Conard, MBA 1982 in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Conard is currently a managing director at Bain Capital. Prior to this position, he was a director of Wasserstein Perella, where he headed the firm's Transaction Development Group and a vice president at Bain & Company, where he headed the firm's operations practice and managed major client relationships in the industrial manufacturing and consumer goods industries. Mr. Conard holds a BSE in Operations Research from the University of Michigan. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from the United States with a background or interest in math, Management Information Systems, or engineering.
- Pierre and Isabel Conte First Generation Fellowship
The Pierre and Isabel Conte First Generation Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jean-Pierre L. Conte, MBA 1989 in recognition of his 20th Reunion and in honor and appreciation of his parents' achievements as first generation Americans. Mr. Conte is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Genstar Capital LLC where he is responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies in a number of industries including life sciences and industrial technologies. Prior to joining Genstar in 1995, Mr. Conte was a principal at The NTC Group, Inc., a private-equity firm focused on industrial technology companies. He began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank in 1985. Mr. Conte holds an undergraduate degree from Colgate University. It is the donor's hope that this fund will encourage immigrants or the children of immigrants to pursue MBA degrees at HBS.
- Michael F. Cronin (MBA 1977) Fellowship
The Michael F. Cronin Fellowship was established through the generosity of Michael F. Cronin, MBA 1977, in celebration of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Cronin is the co-founder and managing partner of Weston Presidio, a private equity firm. A long-standing volunteer for the School, he currently serves as HBS Fund chairman, 30th Reunion Gift co-chair, and a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Mr. Cronin, also a graduate of Harvard College, was a fellowship recipient himself. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a background and/or an ongoing interest in social enterprise.
- Ronald C. (MBA 1957, DBA 1971) and Joan P. Curhan Fellowship
The Ronald C. and Joan P. Curhan Fellowship was established by friends and family to honor Ronald C. Curhan (MBA 1957, DBA 1971). Mr. Curhan was a company commander of combat engineers in Korea who rose to the rank of major in the US Army Reserve. After receiving his MBA, he worked in management in regional supermarket chains and was a co-owner of small supermarkets. He then returned to HBS to earn a DBA and enjoyed a 30-year career as a professor of marketing at Boston University. Mrs. Curhan worked as a researcher and administrator at Harvard for 47 years, including 14 on the Multinational Enterprise Project at HBS. She served as director of the PhD Program in health policy as well as director of the Interfaculty Initiative in Health Policy at Harvard. In addition, she helped to start and directed the Certificate Program in Health Policy for Harvard undergraduates, helping to transform it into the Secondary Field in Global Health and Health Policy. The Curhans' mutual desire to share the transformational educational experience of Harvard inspired them to create this MBA fellowship.

- John A. Davis (MBA 1981) Fellowship
The John A. Davis Fellowship was established through the generosity of John A. Davis, MBA 1981, in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Davis is the founder and chairman of Davis Entertainment, a film and television company that has produced more than 75 films. He is also a venture capitalist partnered in Stone Canyon Venture Partners. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from South Central Los Angeles or the Greater Los Angeles area.
- Timothy T. Day (MBA 1964) Marine Corps Executive Education Fellowship
The Timothy T. Day Marine Corps Executive Education Fellowship was established through the generosity of the Timothy T. Day Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with the US Marine Corps. Timothy T. Day (MBA 1964) is founder, chairman, and CEO of Bar-S Foods Co., a leading manufacturer and marketer of processed meat products. Captain Day served as a line officer in the US Marine Corps, and he recognizes the combination of Marine Corps and HBS training as extraordinarily powerful and having provided him unparalleled preparation for high-level responsibilities. This fund is to be awarded to high potential senior Marine Corps officers on active duty attending the Advanced Management Program or similar leadership development programs at HBS. It is the donors' hope that this fellowship will further enhance the intellectual capital and capabilities of the US Marine Corps.
- Thompson Dean (MBA 1984) Fellowship
The Thompson Dean Fellowship was established through the generosity of Thompson Dean, MBA 1984, in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Dean is a managing partner and CEO of Avista Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm he co-founded in 2005. Previously, he led one of the largest private equity franchises in the world, DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. He received his MBA with high distinction as a Baker Scholar and is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a background or interest in private equity.
- Robert V. Delaney Jr. (MBA 1986) Fellowship
The Robert V. Delaney Jr. Fellowship was established through the generosity of Robert V. Delaney Jr. (MBA 1986) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Delaney is currently a partner at Crestview Partners. Prior to joining Crestview in 2007 he was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he served in a variety of leadership positions including head of the Principal Investment Area in Asia, head of the Principal Investment Area in Japan, and head of the global Leveraged Finance Group. He also headed the firm's workout, advisory, and restructuring business. He is a director of Select Energy Systems and Symbion. Mr. Delaney graduated from Hamilton College, where he serves as a trustee. It is his hope that this MBA fellowship will make the transforming educational experience of HBS accessible to the broadest range of talented students.
- Anthony J. de Nicola (MBA 1990) Fellowship
The Anthony J. de Nicola Fellowship was established through the generosity of Anthony J. de Nicola, MBA 1990 in honor of his 20th Reunion. Mr. de Nicola is co-president of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a New York private investment firm he joined in 1994. He serves on the board of directors for a number of the firm's private and public companies. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the private equity group at William Blair & Company and the merger department at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. de Nicola earned his undergraduate degree from DePauw University. He serves on a number of non-profit boards including The Inner-City Scholarship Fund for the Archdiocese of New York, The Posse Foundation, Sacred Heart in Jersey City and Operation Healing Freedom. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.

The Diane S. Detering-Paddison and Christopher Paddison Christian Fellowship was established through a generous bequest intention from Ms. Detering- Paddison, MBA 1985, in honor of her 25th Reunion. Ms. Detering-Paddison is an active alumna of HBS and has served in a number of volunteer positions, including providing leadership for her 25th Reunion Campaign in 2010. This fund is to be awarded to students who are members of the HBS Christian Fellowship student organization.
- Dimon (MBA 1982) HBS/HKS Fellowship
The Dimon HBS/HKS Fellowship was established through the generosity of Judy and Jamie Dimon, both MBA 1982, to provide financial assistance to deserving HBS/HKS students pursuing a joint degree. Mr. Dimon is the CEO and chairman of the board of JPMorgan Chase, a leading global financial services firm. He also served as CEO and chairman of Bank One Corporation prior to its merger in 2004 with JPMorgan Chase. He serves on a number of boards, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the New York University Medical Center, and the United Negro College Fund. Mrs. Dimon is a founding member of the Campaign to Expand Community Schools in Chicago and the Educational Advisory Board of the Children's Aid Society. Her work focuses on reforming the public education system to provide students and families with the time, services, programs, and support they need to overcome the challenges of poverty. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, she was a vice president at the American Express subsidiary Shearson Lehman and an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. This fund is to be awarded to students who are enrolled in the HBS/HKS joint degree programs.
- Alexander W. Dreyfoos (MBA 1958) Fellowship
The Alexander W. Dreyfoos Fellowship was established through the generosity of Alexander Dreyfoos, MBA 1958, on the occasion of his 50th Reunion. Mr. Dreyfoos has a distinguished career as a scientist, corporate leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He founded and directs The Dreyfoos Group, a private capital management firm that grew out of his previous ventures. These include the Photo Electronics Corporation, a manufacturer of electronic equipment for the photographic industry which he co-founded in 1963, and WPEC-TV-12, the ABC, then CBS, affiliate in West Palm Beach, with which he was involved from 1973 to 1996. Mr. Dreyfoos has demonstrated a commitment to philanthropy and social entrepreneurship and has also played a leadership role in supporting the performing arts in Palm Beach. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who attended the Alexander Dreyfoos School for the Performing Arts; students who received an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and students with a background in engineering and/or the sciences.
- Don Edwards (MBA 1994) Fellowship
The Don Edwards Fellowship was established through the generosity of Donald J. Edwards, MBA 1994 in honor of his 15th Reunion. Mr. Edwards is the managing principal and founder of Flexpoint Ford, a private-equity firm specializing in healthcare and financial services with $1.5 billion under management. From 1994 to 2003 Mr. Edwards was a principal of GTCR, a private equity firm with more than $6 billion under management. Prior to joining GTCR, Mr. Edwards was an associate at Lazard Freres and Co., specializing in mergers and acquisitions. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who graduated from a public undergraduate institution and/or a public high school.
- Helmy (MBA 1980) and Charen El-Sherif Scholarship
The Helmy and Charen El-Sherif Scholarship was established by classmates, colleagues, and friends to honor Dr. Helmy H. El-Sherif (MBA 1980) and his wife, Charen. Dr. El-Sherif had an extraordinary 44-year career with IBM, ultimately serving as program director. As a volunteer at HBS, he served on the Alumni Board, raised over $25 million as Class of 1980 Fund Chair, and helped set a record for total giving at his 30th Reunion. He is a graduate of Ain Shams University in his native Cairo, Egypt, and holds a master's and PhD in electrical engineering from Michigan State University. He offers this advice to new HBS graduates: "Focus on building friendships along with fortunes. Friends are more important than money." This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from the United States.
- William Elfers (MBA 1943) Fellowship
The William Elfers Fellowship was established through the generosity of the estate of Ann R. Elfers to honor the memory of the late William Elfers (MBA 1943). Mr. Elfers started Greylock Partners, an innovative firm that emphasized collegiality and partnership. He worked for General Georges Doriot at the original venture capital firm, American Research and Development, and over the course of his 50 years in venture capital led investments in companies such as The Shipley Company, Digital Equipment Corporation, Teradyne, Brookstone, and Dymo Business Systems. He served on the Boards of Directors of ITT, The Hartford, Westvaco, and the Sherman Fairchild Foundation. Mr. Elfers was a graduate of Princeton University and a recipient of the HBS Alumni Achievement Award. It is the Elfers family's hope that this fellowship will encourage children of immigrants to the United States to pursue an MBA at HBS and have access to the School's programs in entrepreneurship.

The John P. Endicott Fellowship was established through a generous bequest from John P. Endicott, MBA 1941. Mr. Endicott's career began at Douglas Aircraft and was followed by affiliations with other manufacturers of high-tech products, many in the aerospace industry. He was a graduate of Pomona College. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Fascitelli Family (MBA 1982 and MBA 1984) Fellowship
The Fascitelli Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Michael D. Fascitelli, MBA 1982, and Elizabeth C. Fascitelli, MBA 1984, in honor of each of their 25th Reunions. Mr. Fascitelli is currently president of Vornado Realty Trust, one of the largest owners and managers of real estate in the United States. Mrs. Fascitelli is currently a partner managing director at Goldman Sachs. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fascitelli serve on the board of the New York University Child Study Center. Mr. Fascitelli is also a trustee of The Rockefeller University and a board member of St. Bernard's School. Mr. Fascitelli is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and Mrs. Fascitelli is a graduate of Dartmouth College. - Bita Fazeli (MBA 2001) Section K Fellowship
The Bita Fazeli Section K Fellowship was established through the generosity of members of the MBA Class of 2001 Section K in honor of their 10th Reunion and in memory of their sectionmate, Bita Fazeli (MBA 2001). In 2003, when Ms. Fazeli learned that she was pregnant, she was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer. To the end, she fought the cancer with her signature strength, will, and passion. Out of her tragic story lives today a healthy, beautiful boy, Bijan. Ms. Fazeli, a graduate of the University of Delaware, was a woman of stunning physical beauty who had a constant thirst for excitement and adventure. The Fellowship Fund in Support of Women Entrepreneurs was established through the generosity of Deborah A. Farrington, MBA 1976, in honor of her 35th Reunion. Ms. Farrington is a founder and general partner of StarVest Partners, L.P. She was named to the Forbes Midas 100 list of top venture capitalists in the United States in 2008 and 2009. She has served as president and CEO of Victory Ventures, LLC; chairman of Staffing Resources, Inc.; managing director of Asian Oceanic Group; and a vice president of Merrill Lynch & Co. Currently sitting on the boards of NetSuite, ComparisonMarket, Host Analytics, and PivotLink on behalf of StarVest, Ms. Farrington is also a director of Collectors Universe, Inc., and a member of the HBS Dean's Visiting Committee. The Paul J. Finnegan Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Paul J. Finnegan, MBA 1982, in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Finnegan is co-CEO of Madison Dearborn Partners, a private equity investment firm he co-founded in 1992. The company focuses on a number of industries including manufacturing, communications, consumer goods, financial services, and healthcare. Prior to Madison Dearborn's establishment, Mr. Finnegan worked at First Chicago Venture Capital. He is a 1975 graduate of Harvard College and has been an active member of the Harvard community, presently serving on the board of overseers. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.

Mr. Fouts is a partner at Water Street Capital, a large hedge fund in Jacksonville, Florida, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Zoo. Ms. Fouts is involved in several philanthropic activities in the Jacksonville area. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Jacksonville.

The Tracey and David Frankel Fellowship in Memory of Sheldon Cohen was established through the generosity of Tracey and David Frankel, MBA 2003, in honor of Mr. Frankel's 5th Reunion. Mr. Frankel is a co-founder of Altirah Capital, a South African private equity and hedge fund group. He is also a director of Rand Merchant Bank (RMB). Mr. Frankel was a co-founder and the chairman of HealthBridge and is currently the chairman of Cura Risk. The fund's honoree, Sheldon Cohen, MBA 2003, was the CEO of Amalgamated Appliances, South Africa's largest manufacturer and distributor of consumer electronics and appliances. - Emily Stone Gelb (MBA 2005) and James H. Stone (MBA 1962) Fellowship
The Emily Stone Gelb and James H. Stone Fellowship was established through the generosity of Mr. James H. Stone, MBA 1962, in honor of his daughter, Emily Stone Gelb, MBA 2005. A native of Chicago and community leader there, Mr. Stone pursued a varied career in business management culminating in the founding of Stone Management Corporation in 1969. His dedication to education, reasonable discourse, the arts, and the needs of local communities has led him to leadership involvement with major universities, civic groups, arts organizations, and community groups. Ms. Stone Gelb taught under-resourced middle-school students in Manhattan Public Schools before becoming a manager of start-up school operations for the nation's leading private manager of public schools. Following HBS, she returned to the education sector as national director of implementation for Kaplan K12 Learning Services. Ms. Stone Gelb is currently vice president of regional operations at Teach for America. This fund is to be awarded first to deserving MBA students with a background or interest in the field of education and then to students with a background or interest in the non-profit sector.

The Thomas and Mary Gilbane Fellowship was established through the generosity of Eleanor and Dan Gilbane, MBA 2005, with the Gilbane family on the occasion of Dan's 5th Reunion. It is Eleanor and Dan's intention that this fund honor Dan's parents' many contributions to his education. For generations, the Gilbane family has shown a commitment to education. In this tradition, Mary and Tom Gilbane encouraged their children to seek excellence in their lives, particularly through education. Inspired by this goal and with his parents' support, Dan was able to attend HBS, which ultimately helped nurture the skills and background necessary for him to pursue a career as a fifth-generation family leader of Gilbane Building Company. This fund is to be awarded to students with a background in the construction, real estate development, or real estate finance industries.

The Jaime and Raquel Gilinski Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jaime Gilinski (MBA 1980) and his wife Raquel. Mr. Gilinski is an established investor with extensive experience across different sectors throughout Latin America and the United States. Mr. Gilinski has spent the majority of his career in Colombia working on business strategy for a number of companies. He currently has extensive holdings in the banking, real estate, and telecommunications sectors. Mr. and Mrs. Gilinski have been committed to providing opportunity to bright students from Latin America throughout their lives. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Colombia and Panama, with a secondary preference for students from other Latin American countries including Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
- The Goldman Sachs Fellowship for India
The Goldman Sachs Fellowship for India was established in 2010 through the generosity of Goldman Sachs Gives, at the request of Laura and Brooks Entwistle, both MBA 1995, in honor of their 15th Reunion. Mr. Entwistle is the managing director and country head of Goldman Sachs India. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Explorers' Club, and the Bombay Chapter of YPO. He serves on the Board of Aspen Institute and Young Life. Mrs. Entwistle worked at the Boston Consulting Group and now serves as the president of the American School of Bombay. She founded the Mumbai Chapter of Room to Read, an NGO promoting literacy in the developing world. It is the donors' hope that this fund will encourage women from India to pursue MBA degrees at the School.
- Sanford H. Goldstein (MBA 1954) Endowment
The Sanford H. Goldstein Endowment was established through a generous bequest from Sanford Goldstein, MBA 1954. Mr. Goldstein was a graduate of Yale University. After attending HBS, he served in the U.S. Army and then embarked on a career in real estate development. He worked for both Macy's and McCrory's before striking out on his own to develop shopping centers in the Midwest and Northeast. One of his former partners and a lifelong friend described him as "an honest, intelligent businessman, with whom he never had a cross word in 30 years." In later years, he developed an interest in American art and spent time assembling a noteworthy collection of paintings and sculpture. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Joe Grasser (MBA 1976) Entrepreneurial Leadership Fund
The Joe Grasser Entrepreneurial Leadership Fund was established through the generosity of the friends and family of Joe Grasser, MBA 1976. Mr. Grasser graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Latin American studies, spent a year in Peru where he established a school for karate, and returned to the United States where he joined Chase Manhattan Bank. While at HBS, he and two fellow classmates formed NKG Consulting. After graduation, Mr. Grasser joined The Saddlebrook Corporation, a start-up software company where he held the first official sales and marketing position. Mr. Grasser passed away at the age of 32. He was a leader in all his pursuits and inspired many others to start their own businesses. This fund is designed to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurial leadership and is to be awarded to deserving MBA or DBA students who founded businesses prior to attending HBS or to students who have demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship while enrolled at the School.

The Anne Dias Griffin Fellowship was established through the generosity of Anne Dias Griffin, MBA 1997. Ms. Griffin is the founder and managing partner of Aragon Global Management, a fund that invests in global equities. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Europe with a finance background.

The Celeste Guth Goldman Sachs Scholars Fellowship was established as a gift from Goldman Sachs Gives at the recommendation of Celeste Guth (MBA 1986). Ms. Guth is vice chairman, Global Financial Institutions Group, with the Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division. She is a graduate of City University of New York, Queens College. This fellowship acknowledges and appreciates the specific challenges women may face on their path toward success in traditionally male fields. It is the donors' hope that this fellowship will encourage women to pursue an MBA at HBS, particularly those who have an interest in finance.
- Leo A. Guthart (AB 1958, MBA 1960, DBA 1966) Fellowship
The Leo A. Guthart Fellowship was established through the generosity of Leo Guthart, MBA 1960, DBA 1966, in honor of his 50th Reunion. Mr. Guthart is the founder and CEO of Topspin Partners, LP, and Topspin Partners LBO, LP, venture capital and buyout funds. Previously, he led the alarm system manufacturer Ademco to become the Pittway Corporation Security Group, a $1.5 billion world industry leader. Mr. Guthart endowed a chair at Harvard Medical School in honor of his late wife, Laurie Carrol Guthart. He has served on numerous boards, most recently as a trustee and treasurer on the Executive Committee of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he endowed the Guthart Discovery Tower. Long active at Hofstra University, the Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center is named in his honor. He is a graduate of Harvard College and holds two degrees from HBS. The Leonard M. and Fleur Cates Harlan Fellowship was established through the generosity of Fleur Cates Harlan, MBA 1977, and Leonard M. Harlan, MBA 1961, DBA 1965. Mrs. Harlan is a former partner and managing director at R.S. Lauder, Gaspar & Co. She is a trustee of the Manhattan Institute. At HBS, she serves on the Board of Dean's Advisors. Mr. Harlan is the co-founder and chairman of the Executive Committee of Castle Harlan, Inc. At HBS, he has served on the Board of Dean's Advisors, the Visiting Committee, the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and as chair of several class reunion campaigns. The Harland/Leeds Fellowship was established through the generosity of Chris Harland, MBA 1984 and his wife Ashley Leeds in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Harland is currently the regional head of Latin America at Morgan Stanley, where he has been working since completing his MBA. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and studied at the United Nations International School and Oxford. Ms. Leeds currently serves as a partner at RIME Communications Capital, LLC. She is a graduate of Harvard College and also holds an MBA from Stanford University. The Stephen J. Harper Fellowship was established through the generosity of Stephen J. Harper (MBA 1984) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Harper is CEO of Saguenay Strathmore Capital. He founded Strathmore Capital in 2003, serving as managing partner and chief investment officer until the merger in 2011. He was one of the founding members of the Canadian derivatives business at Bankers Trust in Toronto before becoming the youngest bank president in Canadian history. He is a member of the Expert Advisory Panel for the Investment Management Program at McGill University. Mr. Harper is a graduate of Brown University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving international MBA students.

The Anthony Michael K. Hay Fellowship was established through the generosity of Anthony Michael K. Hay, MBA 1976. Since 1978, Mr. Hay has been involved with real estate development in Northern California with Apex Equity, where he currently serves as chief executive officer. Prior to his real estate experience, Mr. Hay was an international banker in New York City. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Iran or graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- HBS Club of Korea Fund
The HBS Club of Korea Fund was established through the generosity of members and friends of the HBS Club of Korea, with cooperation and support from the Korea Foundation, to broaden knowledge and understanding of Korea at HBS and to support HBS students from Korea. The club is part of the Global HBS Clubs Network and connects its members with the School and fellow alumni around the world. The club members' desire to foster a better understanding of Korea's business enterprises, industries, and economy and its relationship with the United States in the global economy inspired them to provide fellowship support to MBA and doctoral students whose research or activities at HBS are related to Korea.
- HBS Women's Association of Greater New York Inspiration Fellowship
The HBS Women's Association of Greater New York Inspiration Fellowship was established through the generosity of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and friends and colleagues of Jeanette Sarkisian Wagner (AMP 90, 1983) in honor of her receiving the inaugural "Inspiring Woman" award from the HBS Women's Association of Greater New York, a charitable organization established by and for HBS alumnae who live and/or work in the Greater New York area. It is the donors' hope that this fund will encourage women to pursue an MBA at HBS, with a preference for those from the metro New York City area.
- HBS Yellow Ribbon Fellowship
The HBS Yellow Ribbon Fellowship was established to support eligible students who qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program, a segment of the post-9/11 GI Bill. Through this program, the US Veteran's Administration and HBS hope to make the transformational educational experience of HBS accessible to US Armed Services veterans.
- Heller (MBA 1982) Family Fellowship
The Heller Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Beth Moss Heller, MBA 1982, and William J. Heller, MBA 1982, in honor of their 25th Reunion. The Hellers are partners in Falck Renewables, a renewable energy company based in London with a portfolio of wind energy projects across Europe and in India. A graduate of Princeton University, Mrs. Heller was previously a senior executive at the Walt Disney Company. After attending McGill University, Mr. Heller pursued a career in energy, serving as a partner in the energy practice of McKinsey & Company and CEO of Edison Mission Energy before founding Falck Renewables in 2002. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a minimum of two years work experience outside the United States or students with work experience in the field of renewable energy.

The Edd Hendee Fellowship was established in memory of Edd Hendee (MBA 2006) by his colleagues at Starwood Capital Group. Mr. Hendee was a vice president in Starwood's Acquisitions Group. He was a man of honor, integrity, and empathy for his fellow man. He lived his life with enormous passion and coupled it with a robust sense of humor. He lived by what he preached, "Do Everything, Every Day." Mr. Hendee was a graduate of the US Naval Academy and completed additional graduate work at the University of Cambridge and George Mason University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are graduates of the US Naval Academy or are current or past members of the US military.
- David Milton Hicks (MBA 1960) Entrepreneurship Fellowship
The David Milton Hicks Entrepreneurship Fellowship was established through the generosity of the Clements, Hicks, and Quazzo families in honor of David Milton Hicks, MBA 1960. The fund honors the accomplishments of Mr. Hicks, a lifelong entrepreneur in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. A 1958 graduate of Amherst College, Mr. Hicks served as chairman, CEO, and president of Computer Power, Inc., (CPI) for 25 years. He has also chaired several other highly successful start-up enterprises including: Alliance Mortgage Company (now Everbank), Enterprise National Bank, and U.K.-based self storage business Space Maker Property Holdings, LLC. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are entrepreneurial and aspire to build their own business.

The Andrew Immerman & Janelle Lin Fellowship was established through the generosity of Andrew Immerman and Janelle Lin, both MBA 2005, in honor of their 5th Reunion. Mr. Immerman is a portfolio manager at CR Intrinsic. He previously held positions at Viking Global Equities, Clovis Capital, Francisco Partners, and Goldman Sachs. He is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Lin is vice president of regional sales for Plum District, an online company for moms, and is a graduate of Pomona College. While at HBS, she served as president of the Social Enterprise Club and social chair of her class. The Joseph and Michelle Jacobs Fellowship was established through the generosity of Joseph Jacobs, MBA 1979 in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Jacobs is the president and co-founder of Wexford Capital LP, a private investment firm with expertise in technology, transportation, energy, natural resources, real estate and bankruptcy. Before co-founding Wexford Capital, Mr. Jacobs was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns. Previously, he served as a commercial lending officer at Citibank, N.A. in the Real Estate Industries division. Mr. Jacobs holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. The Lawrence T. Jacobsen Fellowship was established through the generosity of Brian Jacobsen, MBA 2000, at the time of his 10th Reunion. Brian Jacobsen created this fund to honor his father, Lawrence T. Jacobsen, a lifelong educator and school superintendent in the state of Illinois. Brian Jacobsen is a managing director of TowerBrook Capital in San Francisco. Previously, he was CFO and director of retail operations of Truefitt & Hill, a men's shaving and grooming company, and the co-founder of CombineNet, Inc., a consulting services and optimization software company. He also worked as a private equity investment professional at Madison Dearborn Partners and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs & Co. Mr. Jacobsen is a graduate of the University of Illinois. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are graduates of the University of Illinois or are from the state of Illinois.

The Thomas James Fellowship was established through the generosity of Thomas A. James, MBA 1966, in celebration of his 40th Reunion. Mr. James is the chairman and CEO of Raymond James Financial, Inc., a diversified financial services holding company whose subsidiaries engage primarily in securities brokerage, investment banking, asset management, and banking services. As a dedicated alumnus of Harvard Business School, Mr. James and his wife, Mary, are members of the Board of Dean's Advisors and he served as major gifts co-chair for his 40th Reunion. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are interested in a career in finance or have worked in the financial services industry.

The Thomas S. Johnson Fellowship was established through the generosity of Thomas S. Johnson (MBA 1976) in honor of his 35th Reunion. Mr. Johnson is the retired founder and chairman of Global Imaging Systems, Inc. Under his leadership, the company acquired 100 imaging companies, reached $1.3 billion in annual revenue, became a public company, and was named by Forbes magazine as one of the 400 Best Big Companies in America. He is widely recognized throughout the industry for the benchmarking model perfected under his guidance. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Florida (UF), where he is a benefactor and serves on the boards of the Warrington College of Business Administration and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He also endowed and is the namesake for the Thomas S. Johnson Master of Science in Entrepreneurship at UF. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.

The A. Paul Jones Fellowship was established through a generous bequest from Mr. A. Paul Jones, MBA 1957. Mr. Jones was a vice president of the First Wisconsin Bank of Milwaukee and a trustee, acting president, and honorary life trustee of Carroll College. Active in his community, he served many local organizations, including the Milwaukee Skylight Theatre, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Milwaukee Ballet Company, Wisconsin Society to Prevent Blindness, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, and the American Cancer Society. Mr. Jones was born in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, in 1925 and was a graduate of Carroll College. He served in World War II prior to entering HBS. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are graduates of Carroll University (formerly Carroll College) or are from Wisconsin.
- Robert S. Kaplan (MBA 1983) Life Sciences Fellowship
The Robert S. Kaplan Life Sciences Fellowship was established through the generosity of Robert S. Kaplan, MBA 1983, in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Kaplan currently serves as a professor of management practice at HBS and as a senior director of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. From November 2007 until July 2008, he also served as acting president and CEO of Harvard Management Company, where he currently serves as member of the board of directors. He serves on many nonprofit boards, including the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center, Project A.L.S., The TEAK Fellowship, Harvard Medical School, and The Jewish Theological Seminary. He has been appointed by the Governor of Kansas as a member of the Kansas Healthcare Policy Authority Board. This fund is to be awarded to first-year MBA students with a background in life sciences.
- Zameer Kassam (MBA 2007) Fellowship
The Zameer Kassam Fellowship was established through the generosity of Zameer Kassam (MBA 2007) in honor of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Kassam's love affair with jewelry began while working at his family jewelry business in Vancouver, Canada. He honed his business skills at McKinsey & Company and MTV Networks International before re-entering the world of fine jewelry with De Beers Louis Vuitton as the head of the Bridal and Classics business. He created his own brand, Zameer Kassam Fine Jewelry, in 2011 with the long-standing belief that jewelry is about celebrating the most important moments in life, in a way that will last forever. It is Mr. Kassam's hope that this fellowship will encourage students interested in creative industries to pursue an MBA at HBS.
- Andrew Kates, MBA 1991, Section F Memorial Fellowship
The Andrew Kates, MBA 1991, Section F Memorial Fellowship was established through the generosity of members of the Class of 1991 Section F in memory of their sectionmate, who was a victim of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Born and raised outside Philadelphia, Mr. Kates received a BA in English from Wesleyan University and worked at Bain and Company before he helped launch Bright Horizons, a work-site child care company. A father of three who was known for his passion, generous spirit, and extraordinary sense of humor, Mr. Kates was an accomplished athlete who worked hard and gave much of himself. On September 11, he was working in the World Trade Center as a senior managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald. He was able to call his family and tell them he loved them before the tower fell. His charisma, warmth, and energy attracted close friends at HBS and in all parts of his life. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a preference for those who are parents, have a liberal arts degree (particularly from Wesleyan University), or are from Pennsylvania.

The Brett Keith Fellowship was established through the generosity of Brett Keith, MBA 1999 in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Keith is a co-founder of Rock Wood Equity Partners, a lower-middle-market private investment firm focused on manufacturing, distribution and business services companies. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas. Mr. Kemp is the founder and president of Home Decorators Collection, a leader in catalogue and online sales of home décor merchandise. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Vietnam or China.

The Atul Khanna Fellowship was established through the generosity of Atul Khanna (MBA 1991) in honor of his 20th Reunion. Mr. Khanna founded Rockbay Capital Management, which has since merged into FrontPoint Partners. Previously, he was a partner at Och-Ziff Capital Management. He also consulted at McKinsey & Company and worked at BBN Communications Corporation (Genuity Inc.) as a research and development engineer. In addition to his MBA, Mr. Khanna has degrees from Columbia University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who graduated from a college in India or have a background in asset management or engineering.

The Klinsky Family New Mountain Fellowship was established through the generosity of Maureen and Steven B. Klinsky (MBA 1979, JD 1981). Mr. Klinsky is the founder and CEO of New Mountain Capital, a private equity firm managing over $9 billion of investments and commitments. He is the founder of New York State's first charter school and the founder or leader of a wide range of other philanthropic efforts, chiefly in the areas of education and children's health. Mrs. Klinsky, a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia University, is an award-winning author and is also active in a wide range of philanthropies. It is the Klinsky family's hope that this fellowship will support students pursuing a joint JD/MBA degree at HBS.
- Suzan and Terry Kramer (MBA 1986) Social Enterprise Fellowship
The Suzan and Terry Kramer Social Enterprise Fellowship was established by Suzan and Terry Kramer (MBA 1986) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Kramer was group strategy director for Vodafone Group Plc and later regional president, Vodafone Americas. Over his more than 25-year career in global telecommunications, he held a variety of leadership roles in divisional management, corporate strategy, and business development and as a board member. He is currently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at HBS. Mrs. Kramer is a member of the Children's Support League and Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco. Previously, she worked at KPMG, at Deloitte Touche, and for Disney on Tokyo Disneyland and Euro Disneyland. This fund is to be awarded to deserving participants in the Social Enterprise Executive Education Programs from the United States or emerging markets, with a focus on core health and human services, and participants in the Summer Venture in Management Program for high potential students in underserved communities.

The Alexandra P. Lappas Scholarship was established through a generous bequest from Alexandra P. Lappas, MBA 1962. Ms. Lappas, a graduate of Smith College, was employed for many years as an executive at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She also served as the chairperson of the Makarios Scholarship and the Theodore & Wally Lappas Awards. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Laverack (MBA 1985) Family Fellowship
The Laverack Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of William Laverack Jr. (MBA 1985) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Laverack is chairman of Laverack Capital Partners, a private investment firm. Previously, he was managing partner of J.H. Whitney & Co., managing director of Gleacher & Co., a principal in and original member of the private equity group of Morgan Stanley & Co., and an officer at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company. Mr. Laverack, a graduate of Harvard College, has served on numerous boards and is currently senior advisor to Tiger Infrastructure Partners. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Choate Rosemary Hall, the National Advisory Board of DukeEngage, the Parents Committee of the University of Virginia, and the Leadership Council of AmeriCares. - Donald H. Layton (MBA 1974) Fellowship
The Donald H. Layton Fellowship was established through the generosity of Donald H. Layton, MBA 1974, in honor of his 35th Reunion. Mr. Layton most recently served for two years as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of E*Trade Financial Corporation. For 29 years, through 2004, he worked at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and its predecessors, rising to vice chairman and serving as a member of its three-person office of the chairman, the top executive body of the company. From 2004 through 2007, Mr. Layton was engaged in a variety of for-profit and nonprofit activities. He is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's International Capital Markets Advisory Committee, the MIT Visiting Committee for Economics, chairman of the board of the Partnership for the Homeless, and director of the International Executive Service Corps. Mr. Layton received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in economics simultaneously from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Christopher E. Lenzo (MBA 1985) Fellowship
The Christopher E. Lenzo Fellowship was established through the generosity of Christopher Lenzo, MBA 1985, in honor of his 25th Reunion. Currently, Mr. Lenzo is a general partner in two private hedge funds with assets in excess of $500 million. His previous work includes a position in the corporate finance division of Smith Barney and serving as a vice president in institutional equity sales for First Boston Corp., Drexel Burnham Lambert, and County Natwest. In addition to being an active alumnus of HBS, Mr. Lenzo sits on California Pacific Medical Center's Foundation Board and the Board at Katherine Delmar Burke's School in San Francisco. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. This fund is to be awarded to students who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, in gratitude and out of respect for their sacrifices, and to graduates from inner-city high schools similar to his own.

The Beau J. and Jennifer V. Lescott Fellowship was established through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Lescott (both MBA 2002) in honor of their 10th Reunion. Mr. Lescott is a managing director at Ziff Brothers Investments and is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. Mrs. Lescott, a graduate of Northwestern University, is the director of product development at Insight Communications. - Cristina Lynch Fellowship
The Cristina Lynch Fellowship was established through the direction of a grant from the J.F Maddox Foundation by Harry H. Lynch (DBA 1969) in honor of his wife and daughter. Mr. Lynch has had a career in private equity investment, real estate development, and investment banking. He served as an instructor and an assistant professor on the HBS faculty. For many years, he has served as a director and member of the Investment Committee of the J.F Maddox Foundation, a private charitable foundation in New Mexico. He earned a degree in electrical engineering at Rice University and an MBA at Stanford University. It is Mr. Lynch's hope that this fellowship will encourage students from Latin America to pursue an MBA at HBS.

The Machiels Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Alec Machiels (MBA 2001) and his wife, Sarah Bennison, in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Machiels is a partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors; he is also a trustee for the American Federation of Arts. He won the 2001 HBS Business Plan Contest with a plan for Potentia Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which he subsequently co-founded. He is a graduate of Konstanz University in Germany and earned a law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. Ms. Bennison is a visiting professor in the social studies education program at NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. She is a graduate of Smith College, Columbia University, and New York University. The Casey Toolin McAuliffe Memorial Healthcare Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jon Ledecky (MBA 1983), Scott Malkin (MBA 1983/JD 1984), and Jenny Toolin McAuliffe and Tony McAuliffe (MBA 1985) in honor of the McAuliffes' daughter, Casey, who died at age 14 from an inoperable brain tumor. It is the donors' intention that this fund provide HBS management expertise to innovators in the world of science research and medicine through student and alumni interns, thereby furthering the development of excellence in healthcare delivery. This fund is to be used to support fellowship programs that encourage MBA students and recent alumni to work at science and healthcare delivery organizations.
- Robert S. McNamara (MBA 1939) Scholarship
The Robert S. McNamara Scholarship was established through a generous bequest from Mariette and Philip William Orth (MBA 1942) in honor of former US Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara (MBA 1939). Mr. Orth, a graduate of Amherst College, was chairman of the board of the Ph. Orth Co., a 114-year old family bakery and institutional foods processor, until his retirement in 1996. He was active in his community, serving on the boards of directors of many cultural institutions in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was an avid fly fisherman. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with an interest in accounting.
- McNichols Family Fellowship
The McNichols Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Bill McNichols (MBA 2002) in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. McNichols serves as vice president of corporate development at Starbucks, leading its business development and mergers and acquisitions activities. Previously, he was a director in the private equity group of Vulcan Capital. In his five years there, he focused on private equity investments in the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors. He spent six years at Gleacher & Company, where he executed the mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring transactions in the consumer products and media sectors and invested capital from Gleacher's dedicated private equity and mezzanine funds. He is a graduate of Colgate University. As a former MBA fellowship recipient himself, Mr. McNichols is deeply committed to contributing to fellowships at HBS.
- Frederick and Barbara Meyer MBA Fellowship
The Frederick and Barbara Meyer MBA Fellowship was established through the generosity of Barbara and Frederick R. Meyer, MBA 1958, in honor of Mr. Meyer's 50th Reunion. Mr. Meyer is the retired chairman, president, and CEO of Aladdin Industries. He was also employed by the Tyler Corporation from 1967 to 1986, ultimately serving as president and COO. Mr. Meyer earned a BSME with high distinction from Purdue University in 1949 and was a Baker Scholar at HBS. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Meyer is an active leader and volunteer with many nonprofit organizations, including service as vice chairman of the board of the Cooper Institute, as a trustee at Austin College, and as a member of the U.S. Naval Academy board of visitors. In addition, Mr. Meyer has played a leading role in supporting local, state, and national political activities, including tenure as the chairman of the Republican National Committee's Victory 2000 effort. Mrs. Meyer is a 1951 graduate of Indiana University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Margaret and David Mgrublian (MBA 1986) Fellowship
The Margaret and David Mgrublian Fellowship was established through the generosity of Margaret and David G. Mgrublian (MBA 1986) in honor of Mr. Mgrublian's 25th Reunion. Under Mr. Mgrublian's leadership as CEO, IDS Real Estate Group is the largest privately held manager of commercial real estate in California. Previously, Mr. Mgrublian had a distinguished career as partner, marketing principal, and leasing agent with Trammell Crow Company. He is former alumni association president and current trustee at his alma mater, Claremont McKenna College, where he chairs the Building and Grounds Committee and serves on the Board Affairs, Academic Affairs, Capital Campaign, Research and Research Institutes, and Executive Committees. He was board chair at Westridge School and St. Mark's School and director of the Western Diocese Armenian Church Summer Camp. It is Mr. Mgrublian's hope that this fellowship will encourage students from his alma mater to pursue an MBA at HBS.

The Christopher Michel Fellowship was established through the generosity of Christopher Michel, MBA 1998, in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Michel is the managing director of Nautilus Ventures. Previously, he founded and sold two companies: Military.com and Affinity Labs. Mr. Michel also served as a naval flight officer in the U.S. Navy, worked in the Pentagon as aide to the chief of the Naval Reserve, and is the author of The Military Advantage. He serves as a director of Dale Carnegie and Alliance Health Corporations and is a governor on the USO World Board. He is also a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a military background.
- Sandy Montenegro-Littlefield (MBA 1989) Fellowship
The Sandy Montenegro-Littlefield Fellowship was established through the generosity of Sandy Montenegro-Littlefield, MBA 1989, in honor of her 20th Reunion and in memory of her husband, Jacques Mequet Littlefield. Ms. Montenegro- Littlefield came to HBS as a successful entrepreneur, having started the first loofah company in her native country of Guatemala. After graduating from HBS, she served as the worldwide director of strategy for Oracle Corporation and director of alliances at Siebel Systems, where she was responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of the Siebel Venture Capital Program. - Ann S. Moore (MBA 1978) Fellowship
The Ann S. Moore Fellowship was established through the generosity of the Time Warner Foundation in honor of Ann S. Moore, MBA 1978, on the occasion of her retirement as chairman and CEO of Time Inc. Ms. Moore joined Time Inc. in 1978 and served in key positions at several publications, including founding publisher of Sports Illustrated for Kids in 1989. She was named publisher of People in 1991 and executive vice president of Time Inc. in 2001, ultimately becoming the first woman to lead the company in its 80-year history. Ms. Moore is a director of the Wallace Foundation, which supports arts, education, and out-of-school-time initiatives. She is a recognized speaker on business and women's issues. In 2006, she received HBS's highest honor, the Alumni Achievement Award, and she was selected to be the HBS Class Day Speaker in 2008. She holds a bachelor of science degree from Vanderbilt University. This fellowship is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who exemplify outstanding leadership skills in both corporate and civic activities.
- Michael Warren Morse (MBA 2007) Memorial Fellowship
The Michael Warren Morse Memorial Fellowship was established through the generosity of Richard Tyler Morse (MBA 2002) and Conor Bastable (MBA 2002) at the time of their 10th Reunion in memory of Tyler's brother, Michael Warren Morse (MBA 2007). Michael Morse was a man who embraced life to its fullest. His family was the light of his life, and he was an active volunteer who gave back to his New York City community. Tyler Morse is CEO of MCR Development, LLC. Mr. Bastable is a partner at Davidson Kempner Capital Management. Both serve on the Associates Council of Prep for Prep, which identifies and prepares promising students of color for placement at independent schools in the Northeast. It is the donors' hope that this fellowship will support MBA students from Michael Warren Morse's alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley.

The Dean and LaVon Morton Fellowship was established through the generosity of LaVon and Dean Morton, MBA 1960, in honor of Dean's 50th Reunion. In his professional life, Mr. Morton has worked as an engineer, manager, and executive, serving as director, executive vice president, and COO of Hewlett- Packard during his 32-year tenure at the company. In retirement, he has served on a number of corporate and nonprofit boards. Mr. Morton has been an active member of the HBS community, including serving on the Board of Dean's Advisors. In 1992, he was given the highest honor awarded to alumni by the School, the HBS Alumni Achievement Award. Both Dean and LaVon Morton are graduates of Kansas State University. The Melinda J. Mount Fellowship was established through the generosity of Melinda J. Mount (MBA 1987) in honor of her 25th Reunion. Ms. Mount is currently the corporate vice president and CFO of the Online Services Division at Microsoft. Previously, she has served as EVP and co-managing director of AOL UK, as vice president of corporate strategy and development at Time Warner, and as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley. Ms. Mount, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, sits on the Board of Directors for that school's foundation and is an adviser to students in the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. She is on the advisory board of the HBS Women's Student Association and the board of Rainier Scholars in Seattle. It is Ms. Mount's hope that this fellowship will encourage women to pursue an MBA at HBS.

The Pericles Navab and David Luttway Fellowship was established through the generosity of Pericles Navab, MBA 1996, and David Luttway, MBA 1996, in celebration of their 10th Reunion. Mr. Navab and Mr. Luttway are private investors focusing on middle market companies. They own and operate PITCO Foods, one of the leading wholesale cash-and-carry companies in the United States, serving grocery retailers and food-service operators. Having immigrated to the United States from Iran and France, respectively, Mr. Navab and Mr. Luttway strongly believe in supporting education through philanthropy. It is their preference that this endowed fund be awarded to deserving international MBA students with a background in retail, manufacturing, operations, or purchasing.

The Colonel Norman E. Oram Scholarship was established through a generous bequest from Marie-Louise Saint-Laux Oram in honor of her husband, Colonel Norman E. Oram, MBA 1962. Col. Oram had a long and distinguished career in the Air Force, which led him to the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, where he was on the original faculty. Before retiring, he managed INTGRA Houston, a school for Japanese businessmen. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Emil J. Pansky (MBA 1949) Fund
The Emil J. Pansky Fund was established through a generous bequest from Emil J. Pansky, MBA 1949. Mr. Pansky passed away in January 2007 at the age of 86. Born in 1921, he was raised in New York City. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from Cooper Union College, followed by his MBA from HBS. He worked at Ford Motor Company and at Republic Aviation during and after World War II before creating his own very successful businesses in Oakland, California, and Santa Clara, California. Mr. Pansky and his wife, Billie, were avid tennis players and world travelers, and Mr. Pansky was also very active in fundraising efforts on behalf of HBS. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- C. Dean Patrinely (MBA 1980) Fellowship
The C. Dean Patrinely Fellowship was established through the generosity of C. Dean Patrinely (MBA 1980) in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Patrinely is managing principal of the Crimson Real Estate Fund, where he oversees the execution of the origination team, due diligence, financing, and the marketing and property management teams. He also sets strategy for the fund's professional service affiliates, Patrinely Group, LLC, and Crimson Services, LLC. Mr. Patrinely holds two engineering degrees from the University of Florida and resides in Houston, Texas. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Texas or Florida who are military veterans or have an engineering background.

The John A. Paulson Scholarship was established through the generosity of John Paulson, MBA 1980 in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Paulson is the founder and president of Paulson & Co., a New York-based hedge fund. He graduated from New York University in 1978 and entered Harvard Business School in the same year. Early in his career, he worked as a management consultant with Boston Consulting Group and as an associate at Odyssey Partners. In 1984, Mr. Paulson moved to Bear Stearns, where he eventually became a managing director in Mergers & Acquisitions. In 1988, he became a general partner at Gruss Partners, which he left in 1994 to start what is now Paulson & Co. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.

The Kevin S. and Erica J. Penn Fellowship was established through the generosity of Kevin S. Penn (MBA 1987) in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Penn is managing director at American Securities. Previously, he founded and led ACI Capital Co., LLC, and was EVP and chief investment officer for a family investment office, First Spring Corporation. Mr. Penn currently serves as a director of Healthy Directions, Cornhusker Energy, and Presidio Network Solutions. He is an overseer for the design school at his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, and a board member at the Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Medicine. Mr. Penn's belief in giving back to institutions that have had an impact on his life inspired him to create this fellowship, and it is his hope that those who receive it will be inspired to give back to HBS in the future.

The Piacsek Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Monica and Walter G. Piacsek Jr. (MBA 1996) in honor of their children, Gabriel and Maria Emilia. It is intended to encourage all children to value education and the act of giving. Mr. Piacsek serves as executive vice president for Banco Votorantim, and he also serves on the board of Brazil's leading NGO for public education, Instituto Ayrton Senna. Mr. and Mrs. Piacsek are both graduates of Fundação Getúlìo Vargas in Brazil. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Brazil with an interest in education and nonprofits.

The Maurice E. Pinto Fellowship was established through the generosity of Maurice E. Pinto, MBA 1960, in honor of his 50th Reunion. Mr. Pinto is chief executive of Priory Investments Ltd. in London, a firm he founded in 1990, which specializes in buying small- and medium-sized businesses. After graduating from HBS, he joined Pinto & Co., an investment firm operated by his family, before co-founding Sea Containers Inc., which leased freight containers. Mr. Pinto is a graduate of Yale University and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

- Alex Popa (MBA 2007) Fellowship
The Alex Popa Fellowship was established through the generosity of Alex Popa (MBA 2007) in honor of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Popa is a vice president of Capital Research Global Investors in its Los Angeles office, with research and investment responsibilities in the financial and transportation industries. Previously, he held several positions in the government of Romania, including the prime minister's adviser for economic affairs and later secretary of state, heading the Agency for Foreign Investments. Mr. Popa is a graduate of Stanford University. His personal aspiration and interest in life sciences was an area of great interest to his late mother, and he created this MBA fellowship in her memory.

The Robert E. Powell Fellowship was established in memory of Bob Powell, AMP 92, 1983, through the generosity of his classmates, friends, and family as a lasting tribute to his exemplary life. After completing the Advanced Management Program in 1983, Bob remained enthusiastically connected with HBS, serving as class correspondent and organizer and host of the 25th AMP Reunion in Chicago. He had a successful 34-year career at Inland Steel Industries in Chicago, where he served as vice president of sales and vice president of corporate planning, among other senior roles. Bob's integrity, enthusiasm, and love of people characterized his work, family life, and passionate embrace of the HBS experience. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.

The Sherry D. and Brian E. Ramsay Fellowship was established through the generosity of Sherry D. and Brian E. Ramsay (MBA 1997) in honor of Mr. Ramsay's 15th Reunion. Mr. Ramsay became a partner of Littlejohn & Co. three years after joining the firm. Previously, he spent five years with GE Capital, where he worked in both the financial management and strategic planning areas, supporting several major GE businesses. As a manager in the Strategic Planning group, he focused on acquisition analysis and project management. Mr. Ramsay is a graduate of the University of Virginia. - Professor Henry B. Reiling Fellowship
The Professor Henry B. Reiling Fellowship was established through the generosity of Samuel M. Mencoff (MBA 1981) and Gregory W. Wendt (MBA 1987) in recognition of Professor Henry ("Hank") Reiling's (MBA 1962) personal mentorship and many contributions to the interface of law, finance, and accounting. Professor Reiling was responsible for the MBA elective Tax Factors in Business Decisions and chaired the committee that created the required course Leadership and Corporate Accountability. In HBS Executive Education, he was faculty chair for Strategic Finance for Smaller Businesses and Finance for Senior Executives. Mr. Mencoff is a founding partner and co-CEO of Madison Dearborn Partners. He serves on a number of boards, including that of his alma mater, Brown University. Mr. Wendt is a portfolio manager and investment analyst for Capital Research and Management Company. He is a trustee of his alma mater, the University of Chicago. It is the donors' hope that this MBA fellowship will celebrate Professor Reiling and the transforming educational experience of HBS.

The Andrew C. and Elizabeth S. Right Fellowship was established through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Right, both MBA 2003, in honor of their 5th Reunion. Mr. Right is a vice president in the Infrastructure Investment Group within the Merchant Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in New York. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1997 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and he was named a Baker Scholar at HBS. Mrs. Right graduated cum laude from Yale University in 1998. She is an author and freelance magazine writer. She co-authored a non-fiction book, Your Perfect Fit, published in January 2008 by McGraw-Hill. She is also actively involved with several non-profits, while raising the couple's twins. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who have served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces and are parents; students who have served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces; and students who are reservists in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Collin Roche Fellowship was established through the generosity of Collin E. Roche, MBA 2000, in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Roche was a Baker Scholar and Henry Ford II Scholar at HBS, and has been a leader in his 5th and 10th Reunion Campaigns as a major gift chair. Currently a principal at GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm, he joined the firm in 1996 and returned after receiving his MBA. Mr. Roche also worked as an associate at EVEREN Securities and an analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co. A graduate of Williams College, he resides with his family in the suburbs of Chicago. Prior to that, he was vice president of Zix Corporation, a technology firm based in Dallas, Texas, where he continues to serve as a board member. The Omar A. Sawaf Fellowship was established through the generosity of Omar A. Sawaf, MBA 1981, in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Sawaf is chairman and CEO of Yellowstone Capital Partners, LLC, and is very active in the leadership of other Yellowstone companies, including Yellowstone Life Sciences, Yellowstone Brands, and Yellowstone Energy Ventures. Prior to founding Yellowstone in 1993, he was president of Capital Guidance Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of a family investment group with core operations in real estate, building materials, and chemicals. Mr. Sawaf is a graduate of International College in Beirut and Ohio State University. He is married to Sima Rabbat and has four children: Rana, Sami, Rula, and Sarah. - Joel Schiavone (MBA 1961) Fellowship
The Joel Schiavone Fellowship was established through the generosity of Joel Schiavone, MBA 1961. A life-long entrepreneur, Mr. Schiavone has created and run more than 120 different businesses in varied industries including cable television, transportation, sports teams, restaurants and nightclubs primarily based in his hometown of New Haven, CT. He currently runs three businesses that are aiming to revitalize and develop the city. Additionally, he serves as the director of the National Interstate Insurance Company based out of Ohio, and is the former president of the Young Presidents' Organization. Mr. Schiavone holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University. He is an active volunteer and supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations, and is also a professional musician and a member of the Banjo Hall of Fame. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are graduates of Yale University.

The Abhijat A. Shah Fellowship was established through the generosity of Abhijat A. Shah (MBA 2006) in honor of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Shah is founder and CEO of Clutch Group. He serves as non-executive chairman of Yuva Unstoppable, a movement of 60,000 youth volunteers in India impacting over 100,000 underprivileged children. Mr. Shah, a graduate of Texas A&M University, co-founded two nonprofit organizations that promote investment and trade between the United States and India while leading bipartisan advocacy on Capitol Hill and at the White House on issues of concern to the Indian American community. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from India.

The Professor Benson P. Shapiro WPO/CEO Fellowship was established through the generosity of a group of alumni of the WPO/CEO executive programs at HBS in recognition of Professor Shapiro's contributions to the programs. The programs are offered annually to members of the Young Presidents' Organization, World Presidents' Organization, and Chief Executive Organization. Professor Benson P. Shapiro, MBA 1965, is a well-known authority on marketing strategy and sales management with particular interests in pricing, product line planning, and marketing organization. He is the Malcolm P. McNair Professor of Marketing Emeritus at HBS, where he taught fulltime from 1970 to 1997. Since 1997, he has concentrated his professional time on consulting, speeches, boards of directors, and writing. He continues to teach at Harvard, and in the recent past has taught in several executive programs. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Anne H. and Richard M. Silven (MBA 1962) Fellowship
The Anne H. and Richard M. Silven Fellowship was established through the generosity of Anne H. and Richard M. Silven (MBA 1962). The Silvens met at HBS, where Mrs. Silven worked in the Office of Admissions. A former US Army captain, Mr. Silven, after a corporate career, founded Silven & Co., which acquired a multinational company that he ran as chairman and CEO until its sale. The Silvens were active in numerous nonprofit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Episcopal Church, the Junior League, and several yacht clubs. Mr. Silven was a founding board member at Common Good Ventures, dedicated to improving the operating performance and results of nonprofits in Maine. The Silvens' desire to support officers of the US Armed Forces and engineers inspired them to create this MBA fellowship.

The Pawan and Mallika Singh Fellowship was established through the generosity of Pawan Singh (MBA 2005) and Mallika Singh (MBA 2005) in honor of their 5th Reunion. Mr. Singh began his career with Bain Capital and is currently principal at the Mumbai office, which he helped to open in 2008. Ms. Singh is principal at the philanthropic firm Omidyar Network. She served as the first country head for Endeavor India, a global nonprofit organization whose support of high-impact entrepreneurs enables economic growth in emerging markets. Mr. and Ms. Singh are graduates of Harvard College and Smith College, respectively. They live in Mumbai. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who have worked for a nonprofit in India or elsewhere and students from India.

The Laura Warner and Carl Stanton Fellowship was established through the generosity of Laura Warner and Carl Stanton, MBA 1995, in honor of his 15th Reunion. Mr. Stanton, an accomplished private equity investor, serves as a managing partner of Wellspring Capital Management. A dedicated HBS alumnus, he has successfully led his class fundraising efforts at its 10th and 15th Reunions. Mr. Stanton and Ms. Warner are both graduates of the University of Alabama. This fund is to be awarded to graduates of the University of Alabama, students from Alabama, and students from the Southeast.
- Craig Stapleton (MBA 1970) Fellowship
The Craig Stapleton Fellowship was established through the generosity of Walker Stapleton, MBA 2003, in honor of his father, Craig, and his 5th Reunion. Craig Roberts Stapleton, MBA 1970, has served as Ambassador to France from 2005 to 2009. Previously, he served as Ambassador to the Czech Republic from 2001 to 2004. Ambassador Stapleton was president of Marsh and McLennan Real Estate Advisors of New York from 1982 to 2001. He was also a partner of President George W. Bush in the ownership of the Texas Rangers baseball team from 1989 to 1998. Ambassador Stapleton served on the board of the Peace Corps under President George H. W. Bush. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a U.S. military or U.S. government service background.

The Rupa and Sahil Tak Fellowship was established through the generosity of Rupa Tak (MBA 2007) in honor of her 5th Reunion. Ms. Tak moved to Wisconsin with her husband, Sahil, and their two children when the family business, ST Paper, LLC, acquired a paper mill in Oconto Falls. The Tak family's love for the heartland inspires them to want to enrich their community in every way possible. Their desire to pay it forward to fellow residents of Wisconsin led them to create this MBA fellowship.

The Tarrant Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jeffrey Tarrant, MBA 1985 in honor of his 25th Reunion. Mr. Tarrant is co-founder, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Protégé Partners LLC. Prior to founding Protégé, he managed institutional size alternative investments for private family fortunes. In 1996, Mr. Tarrant founded Altvest, one of the hedge fund industry's largest database and analytics systems. Mr. Tarrant is a director of ARK US, the U.S. affiliate of Absolute Return for Kids, a U.K. based charity with a mission to transform the lives of children. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Navin Thukkaram (MBA 2003) Fellowship
The Navin Thukkaram Fellowship was established through the generosity of Navin Thukkaram, MBA 2003, in honor of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Thukkaram is a private investor. Previously, Mr. Thukkaram was a director in the Private Equity group of Vulcan Capital, the investment firm of Paul G. Allen, Microsoft co-founder. While at Vulcan, he served on the board of directors of Vulcan Energy Corporation (formerly Plains Resources Inc.) and Vulcan Resources Florida (formerly Calumet Florida). Prior to Vulcan, Mr. Thukkaram was a member of JLL Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, and Lazard, the global investment bank. He serves as co-chairman of the Seattle chapter of the American India Foundation and is a Fellow of the U.S.-Japan Leadership Program. Mr. Thukkaram holds a BSE, cum laude, from Princeton University. He is originally from Northbrook, Illinois, and is an avid golfer. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Illinois.
- Tuli Family Fellowship
The Tuli Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Sushil K. Tuli (OPM 39, 2010) and Rita Tuli. Mr. Tuli has been one of the leading figures in lending and banking in Massachusetts for over 25 years. Since founding Leader Bank in May of 2002, he has grown the company to be one of the top-performing community banks in the country, with over 200 employees across six branches, two loan production centers, and more than $610 million in assets. He served as chairman of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and is currently serving his second term as a member of Fannie Mae's Regional Advisory Council. Governor Deval Patrick appointed Mr. Tuli to the Massachusetts Home Ownership Advisory Committee. Mr. Tuli's eldest son, Jay, graduated from HBS in 2011, while his middle son, Shawn, is a member of the HBS Class of 2014. The Tuli Family believes strongly in the importance of education and hopes that this fellowship will be given to students with significant financial need.

Turner (MBA 1990) to honor their commitment to support former active duty Army officers, particularly those who are graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point. Mr. Turner co-founded ArcLight Capital Partners, LLC, a leading energy investment firm. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy and subsequently served as a combat engineer. He believes HBS complements the leadership experiences gained in the military and provides an exceptional education for officers transitioning to a civilian career. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are current or former military officers, with preference for West Point graduates or any current or former US Army officers.
- Jeffrey C. Walker (MBA 1981) Fellowship
The Jeffrey C. Walker Fellowship was established through the generosity of Jeff Walker, MBA 1981, in honor of his 30th Reunion. Mr. Walker, former chairman and CEO of CCMP Capital and former vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase, is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at HBS and a lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). He is chairman of Millennium Promise, a group devoted to eliminating extreme poverty in developing countries; co-founder of NPower, a nonprofit providing technology training to inner-city kids; and co-chair of the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium, bringing music programs back to kids in the United States. He sits on the Visiting Committee at HBS, was chairman of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello), and is on the boards of the Berklee College of Music, New Profit, the Morgan Library, the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, and the Lincoln Center Film Society. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia. This fund is to be awarded to students who are enrolled in the HBS/HKS joint degree programs.
- Weber (MBA 2000) Family Fellowship
The Weber Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Julie and Jeff Weber, MBA 2000, in honor of his 10th Reunion. Mr. Weber is a principal at Veritas Capital, where he specializes in making private equity investments in government-related businesses. Prior to joining Veritas, he was a vice president at Lehman Brothers, where he worked in the Merchant Banking Group. Mr. Weber is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and previously served as an aviation officer in the U.S. Army, holding leadership positions at platoon and company levels both domestically and abroad. This fund is to be awarded to students with a U.S. military background.
- John L. Weinberg (MBA 1950) Fellowship
The John L. Weinberg Fellowship was established through the generosity of the late John L. Weinberg, MBA 1950. A New York native, Mr. Weinberg was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He represented one of three generations of the Weinberg family that helped Goldman Sachs become what is now the world's most profitable securities firm. Mr. Weinberg spent his entire career at the firm and served as senior partner and chairman for almost 15 years. This fund is to be awarded to deserving doctoral students.
- Rosemary Ross Weintz and J. Frederick Weintz Jr. (MBA 1951) Fellowship
The Rosemary Ross Weintz and J. Frederick Weintz Jr. Fellowship was established through the generosity of J. Frederick Weintz Jr. (MBA 1951) in honor of his 60th Reunion and his wife's Canadian heritage. Mr. Weintz joined Goldman Sachs after his graduation from HBS, became a partner in 1965, and retired in 1984. Among many honors and contributions, he served as president of the HBS Alumni Association; was involved in the Packard Commission, which was formed to "bring order" to the Pentagon; and received La Medaille de la Ville de Paris from the Mayor of Paris. He is a graduate of Stanford University and received an honorary doctor of financial management degree from Norwich University. Ms. Ross Weintz, an artist and retired interior designer, lived in her native Canada until 2010. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from Canada.
- Robert F. White (MBA 1982) Family Fellowship
The Robert F. White Family Fellowship was established through the generosity of Robert F. White (MBA 1982). Mr. White was one of the founding partners of Bain Capital, where he has served as general partner and managing director since 1984. In January 2003, he was appointed by Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (MBA 1974/JD 1975) to lead his gubernatorial transition team; he later served as chairman of his presidential election committee. Mr. White is a graduate of Bowdoin College. He served on the HBS Fellowship Advisory Board, as gift chairman of his 20th Reunion, and on the HBS Board of Dean's Advisors with his wife. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Bjorn Wissen (MBA 1982) Memorial Fellowship
The Bjorn Wissen Memorial Fellowship was established by classmates, colleagues, and friends to celebrate the life of Bjorn Wissen (MBA 1982). Mr. Wissen had an impressive career in the private equity and investment banking industries, founding a number of companies along the way. He was a cofounder of Stanwich Partners and most recently worked for Carnegie Investment Bank, a Swedish investment bank based in Stockholm. He spent most of his early career with the Swedish holding company Kinnevik in senior positions. He was also chairman of the board of Atlantica Insurance Company and a director of Invik & Co., a merchant bank he founded. Mr. Wissen, a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics, also founded and ran a data security company, Protegrity. It is the donors' hope that this fellowship will honor Mr. Wissen's spirit by encouraging students from developing countries to pursue an MBA at HBS.
- James D. Wolfensohn (MBA 1959) Fellowship
The James D. Wolfensohn Fellowship was established through the generosity of James D. Wolfensohn, MBA 1959 in honor of his 50th Reunion. Mr. Wolfensohn currently serves as chairman of Wolfensohn & Company, LLC, chairman of the International Advisory Board of Citigroup, Inc., and chairman of the advisory group of the Wolfensohn Center for Development at the Brookings Institute. From 1995 to 2005, he was the president of both the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. Prior to joining the World Bank, he had a long career as an international investment banker. Prior to enrolling at HBS, Mr. Wolfensohn was a lawyer, an officer in the Australian Air Force, and a member of the 1956 Australian Olympic Fencing Team. He holds an undergraduate degree and LL.B. from the University of Sydney. This fund is to be awarded to deserving international MBA students.
- Carolyn Wolff Dorros (MBA 2003) and Christopher Dorros Fellowship
The Carolyn Wolff Dorros and Christopher Dorros Fellowship was established through the generosity of Carolyn Wolff Dorros (MBA 2003) in honor of her 10th Reunion. Ms. Wolff Dorros is vice president of Wolff Companies, a family owned and operated real estate company that has been an industry leader for more than 40 years. Prior to joining the family firm, she worked in the health care industry, with positions at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Ms. Wolff Dorros serves on the board of the HBS Alumni Club of Houston, of which she previously served as president. She is an Advisory Council member at Breakthrough Houston and a board member at New Hope Housing and the Wolff Family Foundation. It is Ms. Wolff Dorros's hope that this MBA fellowship will make the transforming educational experience of HBS accessible to the broadest range of talented students.
- Women's Student Association (WSA) Fellowship
The Women's Student Association (WSA) Fellowship was established through the generosity of graduates and friends of HBS. The WSA was created to help develop outstanding women business leaders who impact their communities with passion and integrity. The club, open to all HBS students, executes its mission by connecting and supporting students through mentoring programs, professional development workshops, networking events, speaker series, an annual conference, and social and community events across sections and with other schools and organizations. This fund is to be awarded to deserving second-year MBA students who embody the characteristics of integrity, leadership, and excellence and have contributed to the development of the women's community within HBS.
- Dr. C.K. Wong Fellowship
The Dr. C.K. Wong Fellowship was established through the generosity of Teck H. Wong (MBA 2001) in honor of his 10th Reunion and his father, Dr. C.K. Wong, who believed that education is crucial to one's advancement and that efforts to advance not-for-profit or nontraditional backgrounds should be supported. Mr. Wong has had a varied career ranging from trading a proprietary account at J.P. Morgan to co-founding a wireless startup. He is currently a senior investment manager at CarVal Investors, a global distress and credit focused hedge fund. Like his father, Mr. Wong believes deeply in giving back to society. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are interested in pursuing a not-for-profit or nontraditional career path, have a not-for-profit or nontraditional background, and are preferably from Asia.
- Evan A. Wyly (MBA 1988) MBA Fellowship
The Evan A. Wyly MBA Fellowship was established through the generosity of Mr. Evan Wyly, MBA 1988, in honor of his 20th Reunion. Mr. Wyly is a co-founder of Maverick Capital, a manager of equity hedge funds since 1990, where he served as a managing partner through 2007. He is a native of Dallas, Texas, and earned a BA from Princeton University in 1984. Mr. Wyly served as a director of three publicly traded companies: Sterling Software from 1992-2000, Sterling Commerce from 1995-2000, and Michaels Stores from 1992-2001. Since 1999, he has served as a director of Green Mountain Energy, the largest retail provider of less-polluting electricity in the United States. He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and an emeritus member of the advisory faculty of the Institute for Private Investors. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students.
- Xander Fellowship
The Xander Fellowship was established through the generosity of Siddharth Yog, MBA 2004, in honor of Professor Arthur I. Segel. Mr. Yog and Professor Segel are co-founders of The Xander Group, a private equity firm investing primarily in real estate and infrastructure in the India subcontinent. Professor Segel is the Poorvu Family Professor of Management Practice in the Finance Unit at HBS and teaches Real Property Asset Management. Previously, he was co-founder and co-owner of TA Associates Realty and before that served as vice president at Boston Properties, and as deputy for finance and administration under Governor Michael S. Dukakis. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with a background in the real estate industry and/or those who come to HBS from India.
- Yog (MBA 2004) Family Endowed Fellowship
The Yog Family Endowed Fellowship was established through the generosity of Siddhartha Yog, MBA 2004 in honor of his grandparents Purshottam Singh Yog and Sushila Devi Yog, at the time of his 5th Reunion. Mr. Yog is the managing partner of The Xander Group Inc., an investment firm he co-founded in 2005 and also serves as the chief investment officer of the Xander India Funds, which focus on investing in the real estate, retail and infrastructure sectors in India. Earlier, he worked with CBRE, Bain & Company, Deutsche Bank Real Estate Investment Management GmbH, and Feedback Ventures. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students from India.
- Tucker York (MBA 1986) Goldman Sachs Scholars Fellowship
The Tucker York Goldman Sachs Scholars Fellowship was established as a gift from Goldman Sachs Gives at the recommendation of Tucker York (MBA 1986). Mr. York is head of Private Wealth Management, Americas, at Goldman Sachs. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students who are veterans.
- Marlin Zimmerman Jr. (MBA 1966) Fellowship
The Marlin Zimmerman Jr. Fellowship was established through a generous bequest from Marlin Zimmerman Jr. (MBA 1966). After graduating from HBS as a Baker Scholar, Mr. Zimmerman went on to work in the oil industry, eventually starting his own consulting agency in the 1970s. He was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. This fund is to be awarded to deserving MBA students with an engineering background or interest.
