When donating stock to HBS, alumni may take a standard charitable deduction for the mean fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift while also avoiding capital gains tax on appreciated securities. Corporate Partners Spotlight

Earlier this year, HBS assistant professor Karim Lakhani assigned all 105 students in his second-year Managing Innovation course to field projects with Ford, General Electric, NASA, and Nike that involved finding innovative solutions to new problems. "These field projects give (students) a chance to experience real innovation problems firsthand and to go from analysis to creativity," says Lakhani.
