A World of Information at Your Fingertips

The next time you need to do Career Planning or business research, Baker Library can help. With the click of a mouse, its eBaker online service delivers a trove of brand-name resources at little or no cost to HBS alumni.

Career planning resources offered without charge include CareerSearch, with a database of 3.5 million companies, and Vault, a career development Web site.

The service also provides seven business research sources without charge, including: databases from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the Economist Intelligence Unit; Factiva, a collection of news sources that covers the globe; and ABI/Proquest, which aggregates business and management publication articles.

For those who need in-depth information on companies, including financial reports and market research from more than 2,500 sources, OneSource is available at the deeply discounted rate of $249 a year.

In addition, eBaker recently added links to business Web sites recommended by HBS librarians as well as links to internal HBS resources and research guides.

Available to alumni since 1999, eBaker attracted a relatively small but loyal following. Those who tried it became frequent users and returning subscribers. The School recently upgraded eBaker by making it easier to use, cutting the price of OneSource by $50 a year, and making more databases available without charge. Among current users of the eBaker service, searches fall into three broad categories: job and career development, starting and growing a business, and doing business abroad.

To learn more about all the resources at eBaker, visit Alumni Career Services at www.alumni.hbs.edu/ebaker/ or the Baker Library resource page: www.library.hbs.edu/resources_alumni.html.
