Alumni Relations Gets a New Director

In her new role as director of Alumni Relations, Stephanie Goff wants to increase the opportunities for alumni to interact with the School. “We have been known as a reunion planning office, and that’s great,” explains Goff. In fact, HBS reunions are the envy of many professional schools. “But I want us to connect with alumni more frequently than every five years,” she continues.

Goff, the former associate director of Alumni Relations, was promoted to replace Christine Fairchild, who became executive director of External Relations in October.

Looking ahead, Goff plans to strengthen alumni outreach in three ways: continuing to expand lifelong learning programs, such as The Entrepreneur’s Tool Kit and Charting Your Course: Discovering Working Options, aimed specifically at HBS alumni; improving Web-based career services and building a robust, searchable job bank for alumni; and identifying new ways to support the many HBS clubs and associations in the United States and abroad.

Since joining Alumni Relations as an assistant director in 1998, Goff has worked closely with numerous reunion classes, helped shape lifelong learning programs, and developed new outreach programs and activities for recent graduates. “In each instance, Stephanie has been a terrific ambassador for the School, and I am delighted to see her take on this new, exciting challenge,” says Fairchild.
