Comings and Goings
Class of 2006 Arrives; MBA Õ04s Go to Work

A snapshot of the MBA Program’s newest recruits reveals that this year’s incoming class — chosen from a pool of 7,140 applicants — represents a select, diverse group of individuals hailing from 67 countries around the world. As the new MBA candidates settled into life at Soldiers Field, the Class of 2004 embarked on new careers. Thanks to an improved hiring climate and active marketing outreach by MBA Career Services, the number of job openings posted for HBS students increased by 20 percent over last year. At graduation, 94 percent of the Class of 2004 had received job offers; 84 percent had accepted one, with a median base salary of about $100,000 and a median total compensation of $140,000 — an increase from last year’s figures of $93,300 and $115,000, respectively, when 77 percent had accepted a job by graduation.
