Fall Reunions

Spirits were high and the mood was merry as the MBA Classes of 1958, 1963, 1968, 1973, and 1978 returned to Soldiers Field October 2–5 for their reunions. Close to sixteen hundred alumni and guests took advantage of the weekend’s mix of academic and social activities. New attendance records were set for the 25th and 30th Reunion classes.

A variety of reunion programs offered a lively range of ways for alumni to get updated on current issues and to connect with one another. Twenty-nine members of the faculty and staff held sessions on topics that ranged from consumer-driven health care, to corporate governance, to finding a job during difficult economic times. A seminar on “What Really Matters in Life,” organized by the School, was offered to the Classes of 1968 and 1973. Individual classes also arranged their own activities, which included a trip to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, for the Class of 1958; a session titled “Investment Advice for Our Grandchildren,” given by members of the Class of 1963; and a presentation arranged by the Class of 1978 titled “Long-Term Career and Personal Success.”

In his Friday morning address to reunion attendees, Dean Kim B. Clark thanked those present. “You are a great and critical part of the community that I care about deeply,” said Clark. “Thank you for the lives you lead and for what you do in your communities, for your families, and in your work.”
